Atlanta United is going to set the MLS single game attendance record again on Sunday. Also, Atlanta will set the season attendance record held by Seattle.
More than that, it will unseat the Cosmos (in 1st and 2nd) as the highest single season average attendance in American professional soccer.
I don't want to interrupt your axe grinding, but... I would venture to guess most Sounder fans were excited for Atlanta and weren't writing them off like many others. Sounders fans dealt with the same shit. And now, maybe Atlanta's success will help you get a little brother into the league like how we convinced MLS to let Portland in. Makes everything more enjoyable.

And I've not seen any Sounders fan bemoaning not being the top of attendance anymore. I think it's great, personally, and hope it's a sign of greater things to come for everyone. Now if we could just get Portland to stop dragging the league's average attendance down
I'll admit that Portland doesn't have as many bandwagon fans as Seattle. Most of the Timbers supporters were there for the team during the A-league/USL days, not so with Seattle. It took losing their NBA team for people to latch onto the Sounders. The NBA said you're not a big league city, MLS came in at the right time to capitalize on that. I don't think that Atlanta supporters are annoying but this biscuit fellow sure is a douchebag that reminds me of past Seattle fans, but worse. It's kind of like how people thought that Bush was a disaster as a President and then here comes Trump. Suddenly Bush seems like an alright guy because he's nowhere near as bad as the newest idiot. Or something like that.

i saw freddy- supposedly when he was 15- in seattle in an exhibition game with his dc united team aka 2006 against real madrid- the media hype was extensive after watching him for 20 minutes, i turned to my son and said freddy would be a flash in the pan and not make it professionally- he lacked pace and was a 1 foot pony- how other so-called soccer experts never saw that, i am not quite sure what continued to be confusing to me was all the other teams that continued for the next 10 years to pay him big bucks- freddy made a lot of money for so little talent- not his fault BTW- and he got to travel to many countries willing to take a flyer on him
