I find this quite interesting. I am with Kei on this I think. Mostly its because he has a legitimate reason for wearing the socks. But the BS excuse that he is a "high profile" player is ********ing stupid. MLS can't have different rules for different players when it comes to this stuff. 888177080093028354 is not a valid tweet id
Yea, this looks bad on the league; but generally, there's more to a story like this. I'd like to hear the league's side because right now, it sounds like Kei has a legitimate beef.
Here's the players union: "It's unfortunate that @KeiKamara's tweet misrepresents an issue that we have been working hard to address for Kei and dozens of other(s).." pic.twitter.com/3A0EFIXTOc— MLSPA (@MLSPA) July 21, 2017 "for Kei and dozens of others..."
It doesn't help that Kei has a screw loose. Don't get me wrong I love the guy but nobody can take him seriously. IF this is a cause of some kind or other, they need to find a more credible mouthpiece.
Where does one draw the line? I mean, it's pretty clear Jacksonville and Tallahassee are Southern cities, but Miami isn't. I'm not sure I'd be too upset if someone called Tampa and Orlando Southern.
The Players Union might take a negative hit for their response. A few things to point out. If a player puts in a grievance to the Players Union, the Union should probably discuss it with them and explain the situation. Bringing up the financial concerns before a players safety hurts their image as well. GRANTED. This is Kei Kamara we are talking about. Maybe Kei should have been more patient in waiting to hear back from the Players Union. But that is why each team has a union rep... did Kei try to go through his rep to get more info?
Personally, I feel that if a player has a legitimate medical concern, and there is no appropriate equipment available from adidas, they should be able to wear what they want. If adidas doesn't have something they need, we're just supposed to let them suffer? How about adidas step their shit up and stop treating the league as a dumping ground for their hand me downs like they have since 2006.
