If the alleged deal with El Tri is true and it f****s with Atlanta's post-season form I will be highly pissed. Curious to see how the fans react on Sunday.
"If, for whatever reason, Martino and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) cannot complete their verbal agreement, it has two fallback options in Liga MX: Club America coach Miguel Herrera and an unnamed second." Wouldn't this be akin to USMNT hiring Bruce Arena back?
If you look at the season by season break downs, MLS has more significantly variation than most leagues, which tend to be quite constant.
Minnesota really. Colorado just has the expected game suspension for Smith (which I have issues with) and a game for Boli who apparently came off the bench and into the field of play, a textbook red. Minnesota has 9 games of suspensions between players and coaches.
I wouldn't say it's over. It's a large market MLS wants to be in and they have deep pocketed owners. My guess is MLS will be ok with indoor play at Ford.
Maybe. I think it is not looking good, as MLS gets effectively in a stronger position and Detroits bid looks softer. "OK with" probably isn't good enough at this point, MLS can be a chooser.
Agree. Ten years ago - even five - MLS would have jumped at the Detroit bid as it stands now. All those billionaires and their lovely lovely money. I've never seen a reasonable explanation of what happened there. They had that plan to tear down the half-built jail and build a swanky downtown sss and MLS was panting over it. Then all of a sudden they added another billionaire owner, which they didnt need, and kicked the sss plan off a cliff in favor of that gargantuan football palace which simply does not work for soccer. I don't get it. Everything was in place and it was the next best thing to a done deal and they blew it up.
