So the winter transfer period ended January 31st with a BANG from PSG. The Fance's capital club officialised the signing of Brazilian legend Miraildes Maciel Mota better known as FORMIGA:inlove::inlove:.....and extremey talented left footed attacker Natasa Andonova:inlove::inlove::inlove:...Just WAOUW!!
Paris left me speechless what a COUP! I know this probably mean less game time for young French players but with these two superstars (real ones...) PSG is imho favourite for League and WCL, the team is extremey well balanced I mean a midfield composed by Formiga-Henry-Cruz...just waouw! But strangely both signed for only six monthso_O. Meanwhile Erika left the club she decided to return in Brazil.
Other transfer news are , young OL cb Julie Piga was loaned out to Grenoble (D2) second loans for Lyon to the same club after Kiwi goalie Erin Nayler at the beginning of January.
FC Metz signed German born but Turkish international Melike Pekkel from Bayern reserve team, striker Namnata Traore left ASSE for Val D'Orge (D2) also in D2 go MHSC left footed lb/am Manon Uffren (Dijon) and Soyaux cm Lydia Belkacemi (Brest).
Albi made some interesting signing with rw Sabrina Barbe, fw Laurie Saulnier and Serbian Milica Mijatovic but the departure of the team's best player Tatiana Solanet (to Dijon D2) will be hard to just adjust to... like Montpellier and Sweden losing Sofia Jakobsson:(...what a shame Sofia was having her best season in D1F I sincerely hope she'll be back stronger.

ps: a curiosity as France female football is getting more international, D2 club Aurillac Arpajon has signed talented Venezuelan right winger Yosneidy Zambrano:thumbsup:.

Yea, this is strangely short-term thinking from PSG. Is Lair just going all out to salvage the season? PSG does have the easier side of the bracket in the UWCL.

In ACL news, Delphine Cascarino tore hers too :(. She also got her Lyon contract extended by four years!

Division 1 feminine matchday 13 results:
    O. Lyon - O. Marseille: 4-0 ; Kumagai, Abily, Le Sommer
    Albi - Metz: 1-0 ; Khoury
    Montpellier - Juvisy: 0-0
Rodez - Paris SG: 0-3 ; Henry, Paredes, Cristiane
Bordeaux - Guingamp: postponed, bad weather.
Soyaux - Saint-Etienne: postponed, bad weather.

    League table:

    Goalscorers:
    1) Jakobsson (mhsc), Le Sommer (ol) 14 goals
    3) Delie (psg), Hegerberg (ol) 11 goals
    5) Abily (ol), Bourgouin (soy) 8 goals
    7) Catala (juv), Cristiane (psg) 7 goals
    9) Amani (gui), Chaumette (asse) 6 goals

    My thought:
Jakobsson will be missed......Yes Montpellier didn't loss but Juvisy dominated the game and even though Sofia's teammates had a positive reaction in the second half, they left that feeling that something went broke with their star player's serious injury. Somebody else has to step up and score the crucial goals from now, but who ? Stina Blackstenius??;)
Albi won an important game for the relegation battle at exactly ninety second minute....thanks to the first goal in D1F of Canadian Pilar Khoury:thumbsup:.
Meanwhile we still waiting for Alex Morgan first goal in France.......I'm pretty sure it will come soon:)

Eurosport2 had lived the match between Montpellier and Juvisy yesterday.I has focused on ClaraMateo recently,so watched this match.

    Some ideas:

*Montpellier still keeps its traditional style, very direct&simple, more like a England club rather than a France club.

Stina Blackstenius gets 2 good chances in the 2nd half, Tounkara and E.cascarino make a wonderful defence seperately.
Mhsc's head coach has made tactics changes by replacing some players:
After mid-temps,Lebihan is subbed in and play in the CM positon.
Torrent is in the RB position in the most of time, and she is located in the CM positon after Romanelli is subbed in.

*Juvisy is a typical France club, each players has good technology, and is good at side attack.Catala&Diani both are actice in the whole game.Mateo is existed as offensive fulcrum, and has a good performance in the 2nd half.
Gaëtane Thiney has a disastrous match, as an attacking midfielder, she totally mess up the attack system of Juvisy.
imo,it's time for her to think about retiring from Juvisy.

Juvisy has a nice age structure now: Tounkara(2014,U20) &E.Cascarino(2016,U20) may be a long-term CB couple;LB:T.Greboval (2016,U20);Diani(2014,U20);Mateo(2016,U20); Bilbault&A.butel&Catala are also in their peak condition. If adding to some young stars, for example:Chavas (2016,U20),and 2 players from Metz(2016,U20),Juvisy will be full of bright promising.

    I haven't follow PSG recently,seems like P.lair changed PSG's formation to 4-3-3.
IMO, some factors result in P.lair's decision.
    (1) Erika's heavy injury;
    (2) some new members' joining;

Erika is a very professional and full of sport spirit player, her leaving is a pity for PSG.She has played very well in this season, as a CB,she has a smart scheduling capability.Unfortunately, she undergoed heavy injury in last November.

Now,PSG exist ferce competition in every position, which is fairly healthy development mode.
    Goalkeeper: "kate",Geurts;
    CB:Georges,Paredes,Delannoy;
    LB: Lawrence,eve,morroni;
    RB:Lawrence,Delannoy;
    CM:Geyoro,Henry,Diallo,Formiga,Cruz,

    FW:Cristiane,Delie,Vero,Andonova,Sara,

I don't know when those 2 injury players will be recovered. If (Boulleau&Katoto) could return this team in time,PSG will be more attactive than ever.

@ohmygod You made some excellent observation and I agree on many things you say, Jakobsson's injury is a very big blow for MHSC because as you rightly pointed out, Sofia's quality are perfect for their direct style of football.
She came as a AM/RW but according to her coach, she doesn't possess the techincal abilities necessary to be effective on the wing at the highest level.... his intuition to make her a ST/CF is the main reason behind Montpellier excellent season with her being D1F top scorer so far, her best season in France... a shame really.
Toletti aside, MHSC doesn't have the midfield quality necessary to play a diferent kind of football.... and direct has worked great for them so why change?....The big question now is who will step up to take Sofia's place? Blackstenius, Leger, Gauvin are all very young (all three born in 1996) the two French are having a bad season and the Swedish just arrived still need time to adapt to a new environment.
Yes you are right on Juvisy having some very talented youngsters who could make the team's fortune in a short time, let me add 18 y.o cb Elisa De Almeida on your list, the only problem is how long will they stay at Juvisy? With many French PSG and OL players probably retiring in maximum two seasons mostly due to their age...The two top very rich club will certainy be looking to young talent to take their place very soon and Mateo, Tounkara, Diani, Greboval should be among the very best worldwide by that time....

Exactly was I was saying but I have been called a hater (not here )...Thiney is one of the best of her generation there is no doubt about it but despite having technique above average, her main asset has always been her physicality.
Now, also due to her age, that fundamental aspect of her game is clearly plummeting, just look at her records with both club and NT is clear that she's not longer able to make the difference for either.
She pubblicly said her goal is WC 2019 at home but imho she could not longer be a starter at Juvisy and no longer called by Echouafni.

Sarah Palacin and Aminata Diallo are clearly the two concerned by Andonova and Formiga coming, I'm not sure but I think both players were not signed under Lair instructions so imo they are done with PSG under him....Lair is the kind of coach who if he doesn't like you will not hesitate to make you understand it...like he didi with Nigerian Ebere completey left out ...Erika certainly left to "free" a non European place for Formiga....

D1F has diversity in style thanks to the existence of MHSC.Indeed, Jakobsson's injury is a very big blow for her teammates.MHSC's players are short of self-confidence and courage last weekend.

@debzy Speaking of Thiney,I still has something to say.

Thiney has some ups and downs in NT. in recent years.

    *Turning point1: 2013 Euros
Bruno Bini chose her as new captain after 2012 Olympic Games. But after 2013 Euros,B'B was fired by FFF,so her captain armband was also deprived.
This event maybe hurt her feelings to some extent, and her authority & discourse right have been cut down in NT.

    *Turning point2: 2015 WWC
She has a poor state in 2015 World Cup,obviously she hasn't got ready for the matches. After World Cup,she has gradually been excluded from NT,even missed chances for 2016Rio.
This event gave her a heavy blow, she had started to consider her retirement.

    *Turning point3:2016 Olympics Games
After Olympic Games,NT's head coach was fired by FFF,FFF has decided to give her another chance. After all,she has long credentials &rich experiences in NT.
I think that FFF has already put her into NT's list, and she will partcipate in 2017Euros,and Euros will be her terminal point in her NT career.

    Sorry,I'm wrong about this:(

    Edit:

    *Turning point1:2013Euros
After 2013Euros,B'B was fired by FFF,and captain Soubeyrand chose to retire from NT.Renard has become next captain, which hurt Thiney's feelings to some extent, and her authority & discourse right haven't been risen in NT.

Thiney should had never been a starter in that team so Captain.....just loool..the problem was Bini abusing of his role in order to force OL players to submit to his autorhity..... The nomination of Gaetane Thiney as Captain was purely political nothing else, everybody knows it should have been Sonia Bompastor, indeed once Bini get fired, his successors rightly gave the armband to who truly deserved it, Wendie Renard.

Goal of the day is Camille Abily wonderful-chirurgical Free Kick at 1:42 :inlove::inlove:. one of Camille's multiple qualities....Also great performance from Albi's Canadian goalie Gabrielle Lambert.
Other news, Juvisy's cm and France international Annaig Butel has renew her contract till July 2019 with the club. Last but not least, first goal in D1 for Amandine Henry under her new jersey  .
At 1:18 a better view of Camille's MAGNIFIQUE free-kick, as the voice in the video says...oh that's beautiful!

looks can be deceiving; the PSG goalkeeper might look like an average Jane on the soccer fields, but check her out winning the Polish best player award(got to around the 2 min. mark of this video)

None of Juvisy players is full professional, they are all semi-pro.
Juvisy has excellent connection so it's easy fo them to find jobs which allow their players to train every week day, most of them work at the city hall but there are also school teachers, and one (Thiney) work with the federation the only French player to work there which makes her de facto a colleague of our NT coach......and of course the youngest ones are in universities, college or high school.
A curiousity, usually foreign players due to the difficulty to find a job in France...language barrier etc.....are full professional even in "minnows" clubs but at Juvisy the only foreigner, American Tatiana Coleman, is currently working as an English teacher in a primary school. Well, Tatiana despite non talking French has dual nationality....French mother.

Other news, Gerard Precheur will be leaving Lyon at the end of the season, according to l'Equipe they already were tensions between him and the board but they quickly escalated since Morgan came....:cool:.

    Guingamp - Rodez: 1-0 ; Oparanozie
    Bordeaux - Montpellier: 1-2 ; Cambot / Toletti, Cayman
    Paris SG - Saint-Etienne: 4-0 ; Boquete, Delie 2x, Cristiane
    Metz - Soyaux: 1-1 ; Altunkulak / Babinga
    O. Lyon - Juvisy: 5-2 ; Majri, Kumagai, Hegerberg 2x, Le Sommer/ Mateo, Jaurena

    League table:

    1) Le Sommer (ol) 15 goals
    2) Jakobsson (mhsc) 14 goals
    3) Delie (psg), Hegerberg (ol) 13 goals
    5) Abily (ol), Bourgouin (soy), Cristiane (psg) 8 goals
    8) Catala (juv) 7 goals

    My thought:
Despite a large success OL was far from convincing against Juvisy especially the defense way more shaky than usual, here I don't understand Precheur logic. Why he decided to start with Jess Houara, a lateral defender, as third CB in a 3-5-2 formation when he has Henning, Petit or even Kumagai who could have done a better job, Jess was visibly not at her ease in a very unatural position for her.
OM is really starting to impress, excellent first season at the top level so far but for me PSG still favourite to win the title, the team seems to not having weakness and in Boquete they've found not only an excellent player but also a great leader on and off the pitch.
Last but not least Metz scored their second goal of the season:thumbsup::thumbsup::speechless:.
Alex is here only since January she's still knowing teammates, club, tactics etc... etc is never easy to settle quickly in OL offensive movement but last game in two occasions she was very close to score, so the goal will come shortly just be patient.
Anyway, her coming woke up Hegerberg who was underperforming before OL signed the American now she can't stop to score .....

Funniest thing about Precheur is he said in an interview that Lyon will get an English speaking coach next year and are looking abroad. And are looking at signing more US players next season.

Best goal at 4:50 OM's Caroline Pizzala powerful shot.. I 'm very happy for her because as a hometown girl, Caroline really wanted to join Marseille over anything even renouncing at more lucrative offer....she signed when they were in D2 which was unusual for a player of her status, Fren ch international, because she believed in the project and wanted to be part of it as a local girl. Now she's taking all the glory:thumbsup:.
Kudos to Ashley Lawrence who is settling well in PSG and teenage sensation Marie-Antoinette Katoto finally back on the pitch, both girls gave assists.
Don't know why Metz and Guingamp didn't play in their usual pitch.

ps: rumors say there was a ittle altercation between Hegerberg and Thiney at half time...I'm trying to have more info on the subject.
Well is great to see Aulas still highly motivated but despite being the one who made OL who they are, he is also the only one who can seriously damage the team by making them become a circus....You always should be careful on what you wish ...

Last but not least tommorrow double big matches in D1 as Montpellier receive Lyon and Juvisy -Paris for macthday15.

    My thought:
We are entering the crucial zone where teams but also players will know if their season 16/17 was positive or negative....fights, tension, intensity is what D1F will offer from now till the end of the football year.
Lyon having the most highest level experienced team, easily controlled Montpellier which clearly loss something with Jakobsson's injury, Marozsan showed us why she's rightly considered the best female player at the moment, simply a magnifique performance. Also a great game from Pauline Bremer, both Germans were so good that they scared us French for Euro...lol...with these two inspired Germany will be very tough to stop.
Juvisy had a great game, even scoring an excellent goal, but PSG despite not being inspired by its most creative players, overcome the complicated situation thanks to the two French teenage sensation Geyoro and Katoto.
Quite surprising defeat at home for ASSE, Albi won thanks to Serbian Milica Mijatovic first goal in D1F, and OM keep on surprising me in their first season ever at the highest level.

It can go on for long for sure, as mentioned in the article, there is a mediation at the CNOSF (Comité national olympique et sportif français) and then it can go to the Tribunal Administratif https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribunal_administratif_(France). So yes, it could carry on after the end of the season, or actually the tribunal might order a replay lol

Best goal could only be Paulie Bremer's impossible shot at closed angle, great control and pass from Marozsan but Bremer intuition just waouw:thumbsup:.
Talking about OL goals, EVERYBODY should know that for indirect free-kicks and corners Lyon WILL always (and only..) seek Renard's header, Wendie IS the only player who OL's opponents SHOULD closely mark., even with two players, how come MHSC left her alone in their penalty box area two times....:(.
I also liked the Turk-German Melike Pekkel who is having a positive impact the the team since joining Metz in January.
As for PSG, I think it's better if they just leave it like that....frankly I don't see how (and why) they should be awarded a retroactive title?...Is that even legally possible?...

Regarding the marking on Renard, one OL player fouled discreetly the player marking Renard for one of the goal. Apparently that's why Phillipe was protesting for one of the goal.

    And Katoto got injured again:
