The MLS is very murky about their money matters, one of the things I don't like about the league. However this move will make young talented players see the league as a springboard to big European leagues, not a bad thing at all.
So has it been confirmed whether its 4 million or 13 million? Sure hope for the latter as it was not a for sure thing that he'd be a success in Portugal.
There is just no way Sporting pays €10M for a player. Anyway, this is the official transfer information released by Sporting:
Ex-Whitecaps, Sounders FWD Fredy Montero signs with Portugal's Sporting CP https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...fwd-fredy-montero-signs-portugals-sporting-cp
didn't he play with them previously? No mention of him re-signing, only that he signed with them. Besides, didn't they dump him when he went on a goal drought.
Yes. The Sounders sold him to Sporting, he went on a goal scoring spree, almost got sold for a massive profit to some top clubs, then went on a goal scoring drought and was sold to China during their drunken spending spree for a massive profit.
He also came pretty close to getting a call-up for the Columbia national team when they experienced an injury just before the Brazil WC. Many articles had him listed as a possible, though long-odds, call-up. He was in Europe at the right time and in the midst of a strong season, the only downside was Columbia's insane depth in forwards. I wonder if he might be eyeing another run at a WC spot, though he has to be an even longer shot at his current age, but Sporting might be thinking that they can milk another similar performance with another WC as a carrot again
has he done enough at Vancouver this season to really get another shot with the club? or was he a cheap option for them?
He's basically proven that he's on about the same level as when they signed him before with no illusions about how streaky of a scorer and overall contributor he can be; he already knows their system, more-or-less, and is familiar with the league. He can provide quality depth without really having to gamble on a more unproven commodity and he comes at a reasonable price. Granted, he's clearly feeling his age and has had to poach more of his goals, has shown less flair than he used to and his shooting power has clearly taken a hit, but he's also shown a maturity in finding spaces, positioning and being more pragmatic in given roles that could prove useful to a side in doses. Hopefully he has a strong season and finished his European career on a good note.
She's a fitness competitor (Cinderella Landholdt) and yes she has a 6 pack. No shame, and not to sidetrack, but I prefer women who lift.
Then you should think about spending some time in the gym and working magic in the kitchen, my friend. It ain't about masculine or whatnot, it's about dedication, diet and discipline.
i much prefer a life of lazyness where my charm originates from my mouth rather than my abs , but thanks for the suggestion.
I totally concur. I guess I'm curious the name on your avatar. Kinda looks like this Italian woman I'm aware of, but she isn't a fitness model.
