Watch "Next Goal Wins" on Netflix for great insight into Rongen, or just follow him on twitter. I bet Freddy gets 20 minutes tonight if the game warrants it.
If your question is implying why Rongen isn't coaching at a higher level it's probably just because of the general direction of his stints leading up to here. He's definitely more about trying to play attractive football than the result, which can be a problem if the team can't perform to that standard.
oh my god, Freddy's first touch was almost a goal for Tampa Bay. I don't care if he's fat , out of shape and isn't passionate about soccer. he would've been better than any of the duds we trotted out in the Gold Cup this year
Freddy assisted to make it 2-1, then almost set up another before the Rowdies got scored on again off the break. Not bad.
his first freaking touch was a perfectly lofted ball that had the rowdies forward in on goal. I laughed
Freddy highlights start at 1:55 The lofted ball that just missed, the assist, and dribble down the line and cross that forced goalie to push ball out for corner
There was one guy in the Yanks Abroad thread ( a Finnish KuPS fan) who would always go on multi-post rants in a weird, drunken, stream of conciousness type of narrative. He made it fun and it was a little tragic to witness. Notorious as the Adu threads are over there, this was surreal at a new level. He would always cruise by around the same time of day (night for him) and just mutilate the thread.
Congrats to @FreddyAdu on making his debut with the Rowdies! In 15 mins, he also recorded his 1st assist w/ the club. pic.twitter.com/5nGquKZPPu— Tampa Bay Rowdies (@TampaBayRowdies) July 26, 2015
He played well. Very skillful and tricky player. Maybe Rongen should of started him at the beginning of the second half?
