listen to what the crew fans said to Dube after scoring http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weUIq...soccerinsider/ Of course we would never say something like that. wouldn't be surprised if they were banned. Reaction? let me know if link doesn't work
I haven't been able to watch it because I'm at work. What gets me is that these fools tape each other screaming racist rants. Its like those teen age girls down in Florida taping themselves beating down another girl.
I think that UEFA once banned a group in Ukraine for the same thing wonder if commish does same thing If I was playing I would give same reaction as Shalrie Joesph
Damn son, being an African-American, that's more reason for me to hate the Crew now There's classier ways to insult opposing team players (trust me, we THRIVE on this), and those assholes definitely stepped over the line. Maybe they should get in bed with that Ukranian team or Lazio's facist ass fans; they'd all make a nice couple.
Well with all of this indignation we should have no problem getting Norteños to go on the Columbus road trip. In the last few years I only remember myself, LN-Jonas & LN - Dougg making the trip. Besides so far the Crew are pretty good this year.
Flip it over, I wonder how Ezra is feeling right about now. Actually, I have never been to Columbus for a DCU game... Only the US/MX match... I do want to go, just wish they would have a weekend game.
As much as I think Columbus is an out-and-out shithole (which it is), and as much personal antipathy as I have toward that city (which I do), I might actually sack up and make the October trip. I haven't had a chance to view the video, but from what I read here, it sounds pretty disgusting. But then again, it's the Midwest; I have family the next state over, which, if you know anything about Indiana, that should tell you something. Nothing against my family, mind, but it did take them a while to warm to the idea of my parents being married for what short time they were.
I need to find out if La Barra will be saddling up for that match. If so I think I'll be making the trip.
some rent minivans and some drive their cars, then stay the night. Haven't taken bus before (tho we're looking into it.. if Chicago can do it so should we since it's same distance). Sunday game tho.
I finally watched it...just as I thought; dumbass rednecks. If we do make the trip, I think we need to wear Klan outfits to take the piss. Then again, they'd probably just ask us from which chapter we came.
S***, if it's in October then I'll gladly make the trip; The Crew fans are obviously assholes, and this would be a great opportunity to stick it to them. Oh, and while we're reading here: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=539989&cc=5901 I think the team should be fined for allowing that behavior. Glad Youtube caught that s*** and brought it to the league's attention.
why should they be fined for something one dude yelled out? So if/when someone in DC does it they should fine DC too?
Doug - it's an easy drive and stay over night. I'll be going up on Sat. Stay overnight. IU at OSU at noon. Then DCU @ Cbus 5pm. Driving back right after game. home by 2am. Work sucks on Monday. Early to bed Monday night.
Yeah I enjoyed the drive when we went for the US/MX game... I might just do that... Work will suck, but it sucks anyway...
The Crew can't be held responsible for the actions of a single fan, esp. the first time.. However, as you well know, teams can be held accountable for not taking steps to handle fan behavior when they've been notified of it.
Actually its possibile to do it all in 1 day. When LN-Jonas & I went 2 years ago we drove & left DC around 9:30 am Sat morn & returned at 7 am Sun morn. I didn't expect to do all of the driving though.
