Boca Juniors was training in Bogota prior to traveling to Ibagué.
Queiroz paid them a visit and was seen having a discussion with Alfaro.
The discussion can be crucial on whether or not Fabra makes the cut for the Copa. Or at least be the first major factor as to whether or not he makes the cut.

Fabra is being predicted to start in the Libertadores by various media.
Would suck to see him do well against Tolima and basically eliminate them but for the sake of the Netional team I would let it slide. :p

Fabra has I think 2 appearances over the past month...

What do you think - copa America bound bc our depth is that questionable or do we roll with Cristian Borja / Deiver?

I'd roll with Borja/Fuentes, even though Fuentes has lowered his level a bit in the last couple months.

No sabemos cómo aprovechar jugadores que vienen en un buen nivel, como el caso Fuentes que debió ser convocado desde el año pasado pero en lugar convocan a muertos como Machado.

It is difficult and obviously up to Queiroz who has talked to Alfaro about him and his health.
Biggest mystery to me as to what will happen for determining the 23.
I want to see Fabra on the roster out of sentimentality and knowing how hard he worked but I really have no idea if he is ready.

I think it just came down to Machado being a part of the National team setup and already working with Reyes who probably vouched for him once Queiroz came in.

Fuentes has never played at any Notional team level.
Also, from what I have seen does not really provide much going forward and looks a bit clumsy in attack at times. Machado is a better crosser.
Fuentes is not really the type of player Queiroz typically likes to call up. based on what others have said about him and his tactical tendencies.

I’d take a 70% Fabra or Mojica as our #2 over Machado or Fuentes.

    My gut agrees with you.
However, we saw how badly Fabra played in 2016 in the Centenario defensively and at 70 % could resemble that Fabra. And I would not like that at all.

Mentally, Fabra is likely a much smarter player now than in 2016 and he totally redeemed himself post 16CA.

From a physical perspective, I just don’t know how players like him, Mina and even James will be able to handle 3 group games in 9 days and hopefully a few knockout games to follow :)

I remember seeing Fabra play in some reserves matches for boca but....I don’t know if that is enough

Yes, mentally he has grown but he had so much trouble with speed on the wings back then. I doubt at "70%" he would be able to keep up this time around too.

I think it may just be up to Machado or Borja which will make me have ulcers too believe me.

Im not so sure how Fabra redemed himslef after 2016 CA.....

He just played 4 offical matches with colombia and we didnt have victories.......

in the match agaisnt paraguy that almost cost us the classification he made a terrile mistake based in his bad decision making.......

Yeah he is better player than the other ones.......

But dont understand that idealization of a player that contributed to little for us...........i repeat after copa america: only played agaisnt venezuela, brasil, paraguay and perù we didnt win that matches and he wasnt always brilliant.

I dont want him if he isnt in shape, taking account that he isnt a guarantee even in his best form

he definitely never had the pace that Armero had, but he became more reliable up until his injury...

nevertheless - like you said, it's likely going to be "ulcer-city" if we stick with Deiver/Borja - unless they put forth an effort that we have not seen in the friendlies.

i just don't want to go into the CA with players who are either injured or coming off an injury b/c then we are right back into the problem we had going into the World Cup.

these days, i get the heebee geebees when i hear XYZ player at __% is better than ABC or DEF player.....

I said he grew and played better mentally.
I also liked the way he played against France and it looked like his trajectory was on an upward one when compared to 2016.
And he is better than the other two options and has more chemistry with the players that are penned to start.
I don't see how you cannot understand this point of view or why you bring it up as if people are saying he is crucial to our success.
We are just saying we are more comfortable with him healthy and starting.

One thing that has not been discussed is that he seems to bring personality and a cool vibe.

We could have used a cold blooded penalty like this in the Mundial:

Glad to see Fabra our there putting in 90 minutes today. Hope to see him get his match fitness up to speed over time. Jorman had a solid game today, which was nice.

Happy that he's playing again...not to sound like a broken record but I really missed him at the 2018 world cup...

If he can regain form I rather he play than Tesillo.
Although Tesillo did a decent job other than the penalty.

I think having them both is a good balance, Tesillo seems to be better defensively and Fabra better going forward. Just nice to have some depth when Fabra gets back, 2 fullbacks for each side is the minimum I'd say. Also Fabra had increased his defense a lot before he got injured so hopefully he can get back to where he was or even better.
