Martial is still very raw. Lacazette is more proven, at least at club level...

I love lacazette but his form for Lyon this season has been poor.

Which is precisely why it would do him some good to play in a meaningless friendly. *

Martial is 19 years old. Let's not get carried away.

*though if I were a Lyon fan, I'd feel uneasy about the recent injuries during international breaks.

    Wow, I'm speechless.

No one could blame him for playing for Spain after the way he has been wrongfully overlooked.

I really can't stand DD anymore. He's even more stubborn and limited than Blanc. He better call Laporte right away and fix this.

Yeah, I mean I will always support the NT no matter what, but it's hard to get excited when the team selection is absolute trash. I really wish the Euro was being hosted by another country and that we could host it in a few years when we have a more competent manager.

Martial and Giroud should be both starting today with Martial on the left wing. Lacazette will probably replace Giroud as a sub

L'Equipe doesn't even mention Laporte as a "espoir" for the future. They do mention Umtiti however.

It's ridiculous. Laporte is a starter and has been very impressive overall. I watch La Liga a lot and it makes no sense for him to be overlooked. It can't be a question of age because younger players have been called up.

I like Umtiti a lot too.

By the way, why did DD use his A team against Armenia and now he's experimenting against Denmark?

At the same time he's not even a spanish citizen but wants to play for Spain? Where's his loyalty?

He's lived there for a very long time. And he actually said he wants to play for France. But if you keep on being left out for NO good reason, what option do you have?

If he was being called up by both France and Spain, then yes, I would question his loyalty. But so far, one country has nurtured his talent (in the best league in the world) and repeatedly expressed and interest in him for their national team, while one country has done nothing but ignore him (and select much lesser players over and over again).

Where is OUR loyalty? It's a disgrace he isn't being called up.

He's 21 years old. Still very young to be a defender for Les Bleus. DD isnt going to reshuffle the deck at the drop of a hat just to please him. He can be patient or play for another country if he wants.

Spain are a joke . They were trying to get Griezmann to play for them as well .

If Laporte is considering playing for another country than his own then I don't want him on the NT

    Zouma is 20.

And it's not even about that. It's not like we'd be doing HIM a favor by selecting him. He is clearly above many of the players we are selecting.

Varane is 22 and was a starter at the World Cup at 21 years old, while being a bench player for his club (still is, by the way).

It's just hypocritical, if we're being honest.

He isn't. The fact that this is news is because Spain want him and can't understand why he isn't being selected by his country. Laporte has already rejected Spain in the past.

To be honest, it isn't fair that players are supposed to show unwavering loyalty to their country, while their country isn't expected to do the same.

I fail to see how it's unfair on the players who's loyalty to it's country should be a given . This isn't club football . Only a selected few out of many can be picked . Yes Laporte is good enough now to be in the team but his chance will come

It's unfair because there are players who are worse than him and there are players who are younger than him on the team.

Of course I'd be furious if he decided to play for Spain, but I would know that it's because he felt he was wrongfully overlooked by France.

Maybe that's just me though. It would be a different situation if both countries had expressed an interest and then he chose Spain. That would be a blatant lack of loyalty in my eyes.
