If it's a game earlier in the year, they probably need to install the grass soon, just to see if the roots hold. Otherwise, they may need to replace the field a few times next season.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...allianz-field-construction-hits-halfway-point Grass needs to be in by mid October. Looks like they are looking for mid April opener. I have not seen anything from the team lately to counter any of that.
Given the growing season in Minnesota, if they don't get the grass in before winter, I'm not sure March would be doable.

Stadium in St. Paul looks fantastic. Not a dig on DC's new digs, or LAFC's, but I think Minny has the crown jewel of the three.
I still like LAFC's the most, while Audi Field deserves the scorn - it's literally falling apart on day 1. I guess they wanted DC fans to feel more at home?
Another note...this view of the stadium is about where the Away fans will be located. EDIT: they are doing some more light testing tonight. You can see some of it via the stream.
(From reddit) They were doing some more lighting tests last night. https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesotau...out_to_shoot_some_video_of_the_stadium_while/
I hope they were legally flying that drone at night. Requires special lights on the drone to be legal
No laws about flying over highways. Just not within 5 mile radius of airport without airport clearance.
Not sure if the video of Allianz Field has been posted already: https://bcbolt446c5271-a.akamaihd.n...30fe2822662707a91f552e231717ca8119867d360d847 Listed capacity is 19,400.
So 10 away fans? There is no way we will see many away fans when there's a season ticket waiting list.
Since, the stadium is under 20k the team didn't need to have a state law environmental study done. Some studies take two to three years and the team didn't want to lose out it's bid to the Vikings. This way they don't need another environmental study when the stadium expands to 25k.
Just curious if you've been there yet? I was pretty underwhelmed on my first visit a month ago. Not sure what's better about it then the StubHub center other than location (which is fantastic) and the steeper grade of the stands.
If you live near it getting to and from the stadium is easy. Having access to the team store from within the stadium is good. There seem to be more variation in food options and bathrooms are closer to the seats and there seems to be more of them. The seating, etc is pretty much the same compared to the Galaxy except for the suites, etc which I haven’t actually been to for comparison. Safe standing should be available at all stadia. James
As an away fan at both StubHub and Banc of California Stadium, I gotta say that the latter is a much nicer stadium, but I think that StubHub might be a better place to watch a game. A big problem with BoC is that it's fully enclosed and doesn't really allow for much air circulation, so that when it's a little warm (like it was for FCD's visit in early May), it's a bit stifling.
Been to both of those - and the Loons' stadium under construction - in the last couple months. They're all gonna be GREAT for at least the next 10-15 years. (Till, I dunno, we all have a teleportation app, and it's normal for each family member to have a personal sex robot. That's the new jet pack, I figure, but the point is who knows what's around the corner?) But anyway, GO to a game in DC. I have been pretty skeptical and frustrated about all the corners cut, but they have pulled off the contemporary Craven Cottage thing. LAFC's stadium just oozes MLS 3.0 (or whatever) largess, and DC doesn't don't have a fifth of that - but the quirks add up nicely and it's a great place to see a game. So tight!
