Remember Bryheem Hancock? Turns out he's a (somewhat longtime) college coach. http://www.gousfbulls.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7700&ATCLID=3708809
Two nice goals (one of them exceptional) from Agudelo in the USOC final last night. He's still just 23!
Here's a feature on Tyler Polak: After a nomadic start to his career and a stop with Minnesota United, Tyler Polak took a risk and signed with USL expansion side FC Cincinnati. Earning regular minutes for the hottest team in the U.S. lower divisions, the leftback is starting to tap into the potential that made him a top prospect during his college career. http://fiftyfive.one/2016/09/finall...elievable-fc-cincinnati/#sthash.LEVYE0H0.dpuf

Former US U17 and FCD legend Cobi Span won a league title in Finland today. Rum & Coke. Rum & Coke. Rum & Coke...............
He's lucky he made that..Charger fans were calling for his job after our last loss. (He was seen smiling and joking after we found a way to lose)
If you've been around long enough you remember that Brad Davis was pretty much a "youth legend" on his way up. Now he's retiring at 34 after spending his entire career in MLS. BRAD DAVIS: CAREER HONORS MLS Cup champion — 2006, 2007 MLS Cup finalist — 2011, 2012 MLS Supporters’ Shield — 2005 MLS Best XI — 2011 MLS All-Star — 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup champion 2014 FIFA World Cup veteran BRAD DAVIS: ALL-TIME MLS RANKS (REGULAR SEASON) Games played: 392 (4th) Games started: 339 (t-8th) Minutes played: 29,577 (10th) Assists: 123 (3rd) Corners: 1,269 (1st) GW assists: 40 (3rd) http://www.houstondynamo.com/post/2...gend-brad-davis-retire-conclusion-2016-season
Never quite lived up to the hype when he was with FC Dallas (or I guess it was the Burn then if my timing is right). When with Dallas he was moved to the center of midfield where he struggled to really play as well as we hoped. So we moved him back to the left to compete with the legend Eric Quill. FCD then traded him away to San Jose on draft day 2005 for Arturo Alvarez, Richard Mulrooney, and a draft pick. That draft pick was used to select..............................Drew Moor. Fantastic career. If he'd held on a little longer he might have broken the MLS assist record.
Hasani Sinclair is playing in a regional league in Western Australia -- the second tier of WA's structure and the third tier in Australia overall. http://fusc.org.au/player/hasani-sinclair/
Here's Raul Palomares being referred to as "LA GALAXY/Autobahn coach Raul Palomares" earlier this month. https://www.facebook.com/Autobahnsoccer/ Raul, for those of you new to the game, was part of the Donovan U17 team and a massively acclaimed youth player who, it happens, also at one time had an extremely interesting YA thread. And here is some vintage YNT footage:
Only old-timers may remember him, but newly signed FCD homegrown Bryan Reynolds is the son of former USYNTer Keith Reynolds. Youth soccer standout and subsequent 4-year player for Schellas Hyndman at SMU according to FCD press release. Apparently Keith and Bryan used to come to FCD practices years ago when Schellas was boss. It doesn't really ring a bell for me.
This has actually been driving me nuts -- every time I read about Reynolds, I thought "surely he's some former player's son" but couldn't figure out who it might be. With that said, I can't claim to remember Keith Reynolds all that clearly. Well, so it goes.
The @LAGalaxy today will announce that Peter Vagenas has been promoted to G.M. First order of business, hire a new coach.— Alexi Lalas (@AlexiLalas) November 28, 2016 That's "Former YNTer Pete Vagenas" to you! (At least, it is on this thread.)
It's a good question. I can only find one U20 callup for Palomares during his cycle, the 2003 go-round -- near the beginning of the cycle, under Rongen. (Though I also found one during the previous cycle under Suhnholz.) By 2003 he was playing in Bosnia and dating a Croatian Olympic skiier. By 2005/2006 he appears to have been out of the pro game. I don't recall whether he had serious injury issues or just couldn't cut it...

I always liked former MLB player Curtis Pride, who scored two goals a the 1985 U-16 World cup in 1985. Aso cool as he was born deaf and is currently the baseball coach at Gallaudet.
One hell of an athlete. Besides baseball and soccer, also played basketball in the NCAAs for William & Mary.
