Here's a place I never expected the Rapids name to show up. Former 2015 draftee Brandon Fricke is engage to Tomi Lahren https://heavy.com/news/2019/06/tomi-lahren-fiance-brandon-fricke/
WTF? LOL, it looks like "Heavy.com" reported the wrong Brandon Fricke originally. When the article first showed up in my feed yesterday it was about the soccer player Brandon Fricke who was a Rapids draftee and later played int he USL and Sweden. Now that article is about a completely different Brandon Fricke who was a backup QB.
Yeah, when I looked at it (shortly after you posted it), the story was soccer player Brandon Fricke. Full disclosure: I had no idea who Tomi Lahren was and sort of regret finding out.
Former 'Pid takes over former 'Pid. Steve Trittschuh was canned today and Wolde Harris has taken over as interim manager for the Switchbacks.

Four former Rapids on the field at tonight's Memphis vs Nashville game. Burch on the bench for Memphis. Pickens in goal, Kimura on RB, Smith coaching for Nashville. First half had some good defending from Kimura and a great save from Pickens. Nashville has a good core for their inaugural MLS season. Memphis playing like a first year 2nd division team who doesn't have to fear relegation.
He needs to first coach at the amateur level before attempting to coach a team with players that get paid any amount.
Not sure if he was a Rapids player long enough to qualify but: Steel City feels like home for Greenspan https://www.capitalgazette.com/sports/ac-cs-joe-greenspan-update-0726-20190726-fkj7phac45en7givl6zt4qy6ru-story.html

Michael Azira is on the move again... Traded to Chicago Fire yesterday: L'Impact tient à remercier Micheal Azira et lui souhaite bonne chance. The Impact wants to thank Micheal Azira and wishes him good luck for the future.#IMFC #AllezMTL pic.twitter.com/dq4318Nuwi— CF Montréal (@cfmontreal) August 7, 2019 At least he'll get to play with Bastian Schweinsteiger now. That should be cool for him! We traded him to Montreal for a 2020 4th round pick last year. Our 2019 4th round draft pick was Robbie Mertz - who was subsequently cut from the squad before the 2nd preseason camp. He now plays for the USL Pittsburgh Riverhounds....which doesn't bode well for our upcoming 4th round draft pick.... This year Montreal traded him, their allocation position, and a 2nd round draft pick to Chicago in return for Jorge Corrales and Chicago's allocation position. It would appear that Montreal got the better value out of the Azira trade then the Rapids. Wishing him the best, he was a super nice dude.
Under the heading "Former and Possible Future Rapids"... Went to the Switchbacks match last night - 2-2 draw vs Saplings (Timbers 2). Players of note: Rodriguez looked pretty good in goal. Solid on shot-stopping, great job tipping one shot onto the bar, had no chance on either goal. Distribution... needs work. My wife pointed out that he will also need help with footwork, as several plays wound up with him tumbling backward into the net from having to move back quickly. Rwatubyaye looked solid at CB with several key stops. He and Kris Reaves, the other CB, were the biggest reasons we only conceded once in the first half despite getting outplayed pretty badly. Hundley made no real impact on the match. Also, our left back, Ismaili (Ish) Jome, could give Vines a run for his money as the Rapids' left back. Good defender, good crosser. Think he's much better than Wynne.
He may have been a defender, but these goals are 🔥🔥🔥.Happy birthday to the #Rapids96 great, @marcelobalboa17! 🎉 pic.twitter.com/KyF9dbcES1— Major League Soccer (@MLS) August 8, 2019
