Omar Cummings = pure class. What a wonderful human being and what an inspirational, fun, exciting, passionate player. I wish Omar the very best in whatever follows his soccer career.
I met Omar once and I just gushed. I became a total fanboy. I would be embarrassed but it was the correct reaction.
I hope the Rapids keep this video up for a long time, I post it about once a year. What an unbelievable season:
I disagree. I don't think Omar is Gallery of Honor worthy. He'll always be remembered but when you look at his numbers they don't show a sustained period of greatness. Between 2007 and 2012 his goal totals are 2, 6, 8, 14, 3, 6. His assist totals are 0, 4, 12, 3, 6, 2. He had 2 assists in the 2010 playoffs and a goal in the 2011 playoffs. I see Omar peaking in 2009-10, coinciding with Casey at his best and the team's MLS Cup run but in general he was a average MLS forward for most of his Rapids career. Anyone on that MLS Cup team holds a special place in Rapids history, but that's not enough on its own to merit inclusion in the Gallery of Honor. IMO the only name missing from the Gallery is Moor's.
I'll give you Moor for sure. I'm still an Omar fan but that's probably my first Rapids season (after three years supporting SV Wehen Wiesbaden) was 2009.

Article about Gary Smith putting together USL expansion side Nashville for next season: https://nolensvillehomepage.com/new-challenge-new-home-nashville-sc-coach-nolensville/
Gary gets silverbacked again. He'll probably start getting hired by ownership groups who want an MLS franchise and given a USL club.
Kind of a former Rapid story: http://www.chieftain.com/life/relig...cle_89955a21-f932-519e-8d68-2932ce2cc6c1.html
http://www.bndestem.nl/nac/horsfiel...-oenrsquo-neill-wordt-nog-gesproken~a56897e7/ Dutch article that states what is going on with O'Neill. Basically the article says that he is limbo at the moment. He is still under contract with Apollon Limassol but NAC is in negotiations for a full transfer. Talk are progressing but no agreement on price has been made. Shane has been allowed to train with NAC so in all likelihood talks haven't soured and an agreement is imminent. NAC has signed two CB's during the transfer window for what it's worth.

http://www.soccernews.nl/news/400464/Excelsior_haalt_Amerikaan_terug_naar_de_Eredivisie Shane's time has officially ended at NAC Breda. He's been training with NAC but terms could not be agreed upon with either him or Apollon, his mother club, on a transfer. It was good run that saw him captain the NAC side in the promotion playoffs ensuring their return to the Eredivisie. Have no fear, not all doom and gloom, though............. Assuming Shane passes his medical he will be signing with fellow Eredivisie club, Excelsior, a Rotterdam based club. So great news to hear. According to the article linked, it implies a full transfer. Good riddance Apollon! Excelsior have been a solid mid-table club the last few seasons. One of his teammates will be Desevio Payne, a Dutch-American, who has played alongside Shane a handful of times with the U-23's.
