Just happened to see Bojan and Stoke City at an airport in Orlando. I only realized it was him about 15 mins later after I figured out it was Stoke City. Dude looked familiar but I didn't recognize it at first.
He's developed into a great little player , very creative in midfield areas , great technique which kinda surprised me as I remember him as a young , fast forward who loved a shot on goal .
Nice goal, he's still ours to buy back for the next 22 months, the problem is where to play him / who does he replace, and while we sold him for 5--5.5M he costs 10M next June, then 12.5M in June 2018. But if he can keep doing that regularly we may have to find space and money.
Halilovic's goal, very nice one. Frankly, I think we only have buyback rights on a couple players at this point. We'll not exercise on Adama. Not sure but we may have a high priced final right to by Deulofeu, but if we did not use it this summer then (1) we aint using it while Lucho is coach, and (2) it only gets more expensive, so see (1) again. Other buybacks? Am I forgetting anyone? Obviously the loan outs are different, we still hold rights to Tello and Verm, not sure off the top of my head if anyone else. Montoya, Song, Keirrison, Hleb, Cuenca, Affelay, all off our books by now. No loan or buyback rights for Adriano, Bartra (sad face), Alves (sad face), Bravo once he goes (sad face), or Sandro, Pedro (sad face), Xavi.
Dugarry edition, at least LVG did not push him over: http://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2016/09/14/57d98a8b468aebf7368b4604.html
First part of an interview with Bartra, while I am sad we don't have him at Barca anymore I'm happy for him for the PT he is getting and relieved that Umtiti has adapted so well so fast, which eases the blow of losing Bartra and losing him for less than his market value as well. http://www.sport-english.com/en/new...ew-part-one-sports-chat-with-the-star-5416922
Not sure if he is medically cleared to play, part two might touch on that, he has started and finished a few matches for Dortmund (and for Spain too), and seems to be playing well, here are the whoscored ratings: https://www.whoscored.com/Players/83686/Show/Marc-Bartra EDIT - here's part 2, injury not mentioned: http://www.sport-english.com/en/new...ew-part-two-sports-chat-with-the-star-5416981 This says he is likely to miss Madrid (and possibly Leverkeusen) but was published 5 days ago, it also calls him a regular starter which is great for him: http://www.tyw.bundesligalounge.com...entre-back-miss-freiburg-real-madrid-matches/
OK, I know it says former players but c'mon, this is newsworthy and where else does it go? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/sep/27/tata-martino-mls-atlanta-united Will he bring the pistachio polo? How did I not get likes during the Gladbach match for those photos. Tough crowd:
Hmm, sheds a bit of light on what happened, but also sounds a bit like a smear campaign. I wonder if we get any of the upside if Benfica sells him for a considerably more than they paid us? http://www.sport-english.com/en/new...lona-allow-grimaldo-leave-for-benfica-5446580
David Villa lobbying for a return to Spanish NT under new coach, I don't think it will happen but he is having a great year in NYC: http://www.espnfc.us/major-league-s...hoping-for-spain-recall-under-julen-lopetegui There's a great video embedded in that story showing about 5 goals he scored in September, some nice ones.
Interesting piece about Jordi C and, of course, his dad, both former Barca: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/30/s...na-fathers-long-shadow.html?ref=international
Southampton, with an over 7 rating avg. on whoscored: https://www.whoscored.com/Players/90780 As much love as Busquets gets on our forum folks don't realize he also led to some of the most lucrative / successful transfers of the past 8 years as well: the sale of Yaya, the sale of Romeu, and the purchase of Mascherano (brought in to back up Busquets, but became the Puyol successor after we'd spent about 100M on failures: Milito - injury failure, Cacares, Henrique, Chyggy, and Song (also a DM but bought with the idea of converting to CB). So Busquets great play and injury avoidance let us sell two profitable players, and bring in the only successful CB before Umtiti.
A few matches back with MAtS had his latest hiccup, @jfcule and I were (ahem) reminiscing about Carles Busquets (Sergi's dad), who was our GK during the 1994-95 season. Here's his high/low-light reel: @jfcule , does this video include the gaffe you were trying to remember?
Pedro gets a big shout out in item 2 (which basically says we thought he was as redundant as Cesc on this Chelsea team but he's proven invaluable since Conte switched to a 3 man defense); I did not realize he was getting starts over Willian but am happy for him. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...league-10-things-to-look-out-for-this-weekend
Supposedly Cesc and Mikhitarian are reportedly gonna be available for loan / purchase in the Jan window . I'd consider them both given our current midfield issues
Valdes rocked bigtime, what a legend and he has been a better goalkeeper than casillas in the long run. Would love Pep to replace Caballero with VV if he did well, then Mancity ll be my(if not already) second team with athe whole barca set up over there.
