Jason Burt us a strange one. He's worked in Liverpool before but has a certain anti Liverpool flavour to his articles. I'd be a bit doubtful were it only him. But Northcroft ... Still, some are claiming we're in for Wilshere
Naby Keita is better than Phil... albeit a somewhat different player. Unless you're advocating that LFC relocate to a sunny city on the continent, this might be a tough thing to change all at once...
I agree with you on the Burt thing, but he was the one who broke the Phil story first, and the Telegraph's Jeremy Wilson broke the VVD story, so it appears they are working contacts in the London LFC offices (Hogan?). Burt initially discussed this on the AI Pro pod over the weekend http://anfieldindex.com/pro and Northcroft was on same pod today saying he spoke to Burt about the player in question, but it was Burt's story to break. It appears that after the VVD fiasco this summer, club is briefing far less and not necessarily using Liverpool based journos. Chances are names in the papers are either smokescreens by the club, or agents fed stories trying to get moves for their players.
He may be more suited to Klopp's system, but not sure we can say he's better than Phil just yet. We should see him in a red shirt for at least 45 mins before we rush to that judgement.
Never change Blanconi, never change. We break the world record for the best defender in the league, but he's "promising" We sign arguably the best midfielder in the BL for second highest fee for BL players. No Liverpool player has done what Salah as done so far. Lemar has also turned down Arsenal in favor of a move to LFC. As far as the PL goes, there is plenty of evidence to support LFC is a "destination" club at least on par with City Utd and Chelsea, and way more attractive than Arsenal and Spurs.
Looks like the Reds want to head off any unrest Bobby may be feeling following Coutinho's leaving. Liverpool want to reward Roberto Firmino with a new contract keeping him at Anfield for the rest of his career. [Chris Bascombe]
He and Monaco both turned down Arsenal's 90M pound bid in the summer, some think because it came on the heels of LFC's 60-something M pound bid.
RB Leipzig could let Guinean midfielder Naby Keita join Liverpool this month. The Reds have already agreed to sign the 22-year-old in the summer for £48m but may be able to take him in January for an additional 15-20m euros payment. (Bild - in German)
I suppose, but the bids both happened and do tell somewhat of a story. Supposedly LFC's bid did turn the player's head to some degree.
