http://menacesoccer.com/news/index.html?article_id=1020 we have seen some new developments that will potentially move the Menace organization in a new and exciting direction.
Will there be any streaming options to watch the game, like Central Iowa Sports Network? I know a number of Iowa Rush players and families will be in the Chicago area this weekend for a preseason regional event. I believe the Friday session will be done in time for a 7:30 PM kickoff for the Menace.

Lamar Hunt US Open Cup - TheCup.us #USOC2022 Round 1: Defending USL League Two champions Des Moines Menace played spoiler in Minneapolis City SC's #USOpenCup debut. Alessandro Salvadego's two goals set up a 2nd Round match vs Union Omaha. Recap by Blake Siberz: https://thecup.us/.../2022-us-open-cup-round-1.../
Union Omaha (USL League One) 2, Des Moines Menace (USL League Two) 1 https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...-first-cupsets-of-2022-lamar-hunt-us-open-cup In the end the Menace proved to be the enemy within. Des Moines defender Allen Bertini’s own goal in the 81st minute proved decisive as Union Omaha came from behind to win its first U.S. Open Cup match at Creighton University’s Morrison Stadium in Omaha, NE. Corey Hertzog poached an opening goal for Menace in the first half, but Union equalized just four minutes later off a corner kick when John Paul Scearce headed in a ball at the near post from Joseph Brito. Despite Omaha holding a 25-6 shots advantage and 60 percent possession, Des Moines defended ably until a slicing ball from Union’s Conor Doyle forced Bertini to misplay his clearance into the goal.
Des Moines Menace We are disappointed that the 109th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will not include all teams from all levels, and that changes are being made during the competition cycle. This is our country’s most historic, authentic, and inclusive soccer competition. We had to choose between participating in a diminished version of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup or sitting out on principle and depriving our players and fans the magic of the Open Cup this year. The Des Moines Menace has chosen to participate for our fans, players, and coaches. The Des Moines Menace has chosen to participate, one win away from becoming the winningest amateur club in the Open Cup modern era. We urge all stakeholders in American soccer to re-commit to the core principles of the U.S. Open Cup going forward and help it grow to its full potential.
