Someone was talking about podcasts in another thread. Most of these are from another source and a decent collection to start. If y'all have more, please post. Football Weekly The Guardian Unlimited's podcast. Comes out on Mondays (and is great for running!). Revolving cast of characters hosted by James Richardson. A must listen. http://football.guardian.co.uk/footballweekly/ The Game http://podcast.timesonline.co.uk/rss...podcastmp3.rss EPL Talk http://epltalk.libsyn.com/ 606 Football Phone-In http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/programmes/606.shtml World Soccer Daily Best of the US pods. http://www.worldsoccerweekly.com/ Off The Ball http://www.newstalk.ie/podcasting.html The Champions Soccer Radio Network http://champions_soccer_radio.vitalpodcasts.com/ ESPN Soccernet Extra http://espnradio.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/index Soccer Shout http://soccershout.com/category/podcast/ The Beautiful Game Archives only. http://beautifulgamepodcast.blogspot.com/ Podball 365 http://www.football365.com/Podcast/0...,10836,00.html Fighting Talk http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/rmhttp/do...ngtalk/rss.xml http://www.anton.co.uk/fighting/ Okey Doke Football http://okeydokefootball.com Soccertalk http://soccertalk.libsyn.com/rss BBC 5 Live Football Daily http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/5lfd/ Forza Futbol http://forzafutbol.podbean.com/ Serie A Talk http://serieatalk.libsyn.com/ La Liga Talk http://laligatalk.libsyn.com/ Championship Talk http://www.championshiptalk.com/
Football Weekly from the Guardian. It's my crack. Last year it was once a week, recently it's been twice. Various of the football writers and columnists. Clever, funny and knowledgeable.
Okay... Guardian and EPL talk...awesome Try WORLD SOCCER WRAP on i-tunes....seriously Cheers Simon Allen
Malicia, you're the best!!!! Just to add: I love Guardian Football Weekly. Sid Lowe's probably the best English-language journo covering La Liga out there and he's also a cheeky wit. But mostly James Richardson's puns make my day. The podcasters also do not take themselves too seriously in the slightest (*cough*Guillem Ballague*cough*). I'm not fond of World Soccer Daily's hosts -- just imagine if you will listening to a huge Chelsea fan and a huge Man United fan ramble on -- but it's really damn comprehensive, clocking in at like 2 hours daily. Although they're kind of riotous when it comes to making fun of Landycakes Donovan.
I actually think the GFW and WSD are both good. Some of the others I find a bit drab. I still have to listen the Guardian a bit more but a keeper none the less. I am a bit surprised that there isn't more podcasts available. Except for La Liga Talk which just started I don't know of any that specialize in Spanish footy. I'm forced to listen to alot of talk about the EPL, which I'm not a huge fan of.
Catalunya Radio http://www.catradio.cat/pcatradio/crItem.jsp?seccio=programa&idint=496 http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=130292846
I don't regularly listen to any other pods except for the GU one, but I gave La Liga Talk a try and boyyyy should those presenters not be doing radio. I think my high school morning PA announcers were more articulate than these jokers. Awwwwkward.
The Guardian podcast is really growing on me... They have officially earned my loyalty...they got geeky with the references to the Smiths. WSD really disappointed me the last two weeks...Chelsea overload, ok I get it Mourinho leaving was important, they barley even mentioned the Champions League.
Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I have a secret crush on Sid Lowe. There was a segment where they talked to his father who said Sid used to have jerseys for all the Premier League teams and would move them around on his walls according to the table. *swoon*
The Champions Soccer Radio network which malicia listed above now has a European Football Show. It is on live Mondays at 11:00 am PT, 2:00 pm ET but can also be heard anytime by clicking on the link for the European Football Show (towards the bottom of the page) at: http://www.championssoccerradio.com/CSRN/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=30 The show concentrates on Spain, Italy and Germany and is worth a listen I think.
Last time she was posting she mentioned she's studying hardcore for school this semester. She picked a great time to not pay attention to what's going on at FCB.
It's pretty cool to see the exact date that I started listening to the Football Weekly Podcast. For the record, it's still great. I'd also add "Beyond the Pitch", and the new "La Liga Weekly" (from Sky Sports) to the list. I've only recently started listening to BtP, and LLW really is brand new, but they've been very entertaining so far. Also, malicia and tiemyshoey are sorely missed.
Two not mentioned on this list that I heartily recommend are: - 5 Live's World Football Phone In = weekly BBC podcast on an English late night radio call-in show. Discussion of football outside England with regular guests Tim Vickery (lives in Rio, expert on South America), Andy Brassell (covers continental Europe) and Sean Wheelock (lives in KC, MO and covers N. American soccer). - BBC World Service's World Football = weekly podcast with more of a News magazine format, a la 60 Minutes. They cover stories from all over the world. Quality BBC reporting. Looking forward to checking out the La Liga Weekly and more of Beyond the Pitch. I have loved the Guardian podcast for awhile as well.
Gonna sticky this thread so it's easier to find. There's a couple of guys who started doing a podcast for Grantland. It's all England based but they're funny so I'll still listen. They'll probably only talk about Barcelona and La Liga when CL matchups occur but that's OK since I find myself usually tuning out the Guardian podcast after Sid Lowe's piece is done. Is La Liga Weekly the one that had the blonde guy hosting and Guillem Balague pontificating? Whatever that one was, it was good but I'd always wished it was streaming as downloading it every time was a pain. Anyone know if a stream of this show or something similar still exists? Malicia popped in to say hi after the LPB manita, I wouldn't even begin to know how to locate tiemyshoey.
You're thinking of "Revista". They had Revista Extra as a podcast for a while, but that stopped a while ago. I'm not even sure if they do it anymore, but I know Balague and Mark Bolton are no longer the hosts. La Liga Weekly is a different show, but it does have both Balague and Sid Lowe.
