Yeah they couldn't get the German NT's lineup or the Japanese one for that matter. That's probably the biggest hole in FM.
LOL you're just rubbish Re: German NT - the DFB wouldn't give SI the rights. All you have to do is delete one file and it will take away those fake players and make Germany manageable and select real players. I'll try to find the link for you. You have to start a new game though.
I offered like 14 or something. Sometimes they just go way higher than you offer, and there is no set price, just a certain percentage higher than whatever you offer. The transfer system is pretty poor in that game. Before 08 the negotiating used to go like this Team A offers 25 million Team B willing to settle for 34 million Team A counter-offers 30 million Team B willing to settle for 47 million etc etc
If I remember right its in the Program Files-> Sports Interactive-> FM2009-> data and then for unpatched its in -> data-> db-> 900-> lnc or for patched its -> updates-> 910 or 920-> lnc then delete the files in there. should be 2.
where do I download the patch?? What is the patch? hoe do I install a patch. sorry, im a real n00b at this!
Just google 'fm 2009 update' or something and I'm sure you can find a 9.20 patch. Otherwise you can just delete the files at: Program Files-> Sports Interactive-> FM2009-> data -> db-> 900-> lnc And start a new game. If you do update to the patched version when starting a new game be sure to change the database to the 9.2 version. This is done right after clicking 'New game' at the title screen
Won the CL after a shootout against Barca, third place in the league, new signings - Dzagoev, Van der Vaart, Owen, Cristian Rodriguez. First match of the season against Charlton, Lamps gets an injury, if I didn't send him to a specialist he would've been out for 6 months and if I gave him injections he could've been out for 10! Specialist makes it only 2, time for Van der Vaart to step it up!
Do you know where you chose to put it on install. The default should be "C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009" Did you choose a different place? You could try doing a search in windows for 'manager' or something similair.
Yeah, I have the actual disc. I had that file before but i lost in when I reinstalled the game because all the file where going into the DEMO folder instead. I had downloaded the DEMO before I actually purchased the game. I just got knocked out of the German Cup by Rot-Weiss Essen FFS so I'm done with thi one - I will uninstall it again and make sure it is in the correct directory when I reinstall it. Interestingly enough, when I uninstalled it the first time and re installed it, my profile (name, age, etc) where all there still.... What is this "stream" shit though??? Just want to get this right! Thanks for you help...will be back in a few days to let you guys know how it is working.
Steam is crap I didn't use it. FM09 is the most challenging in the series, so don't get discourage. I'm still plundering away 3rd season in League 2.
Ok, so I've found a way to curb the 'strikers always miss one-on-ones' issue: Preferred moves. With the right moves in a strikers arsenal, they can be much better at finishing one-on-one First, all strikers should have the 'likes to beat offside trap' move. It's really critical. Next, if the player is good technically, tell him to round the keeper If he has good finishing, tell him to either blast the ball of place his shots If he has good long shots, tell him to lob the keeper This has worked really well for me
^Yeah, good points. Rounding keeper works so well because that's the absolute best way to score in the game.
How do you get your goalie to not be an idiot? I've had Cech at least twice nice have the ball, and wait for the opposition to come for him to kick it off them into my own net.
I've recently moved my central defenders mentality from ultra-defensive up a couple notches. Maybe you can try that for keepers but FM is notorious for having terrible cock ups from keepers.
I give up...I just downloaded it again and once again the folder in "Program Files" just has the folder Sports interactive>Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009>unistall_Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009.
Hm...maybe the American Version installs differently. The other place the game isntalls files (but usually not the whole game!!) would be under the My Documents Folder. On mine thats where it puts some save files and minor stuff like that but its worth a shot
Yes, I have that too. But I found the folder. When I re installed it, it automatically did it in the "steam" folder in "program files". So I deleted the two files as you suggested, thanks. Will check tomorrow if it worked. Also, according to Steam, patches are supposed to download automatically. Back to the game itself; Anyone notice that no one ever gets a rebound!!!!!
