Scotland: Glasgow City are the champions of the SWPL 2018, after they beat Spartans 4-2 in the last game. Hibernian finished 3 points behind. Hibs' 7-1 win v Rangers meant the goal difference was level in the end(!) but it wasn't enough. 12 championships in a row is a great achievement, but the signs are there that Glasgow City's reign can't last much longer. Somehow though, they keep finding the vital victories in the league. Hibernian knocked Glasgow out of the Scottish Women's Cup, and Hibs are hoping to win a cup 'double' tomorrow in the final against SWPL 2 champs Motherwell. Looks like Miedema is on a roll: can't wait to see if and how this will translate into Netherlands NT for the play-off vs Switzerland.
guess Man City is doing ok in 2nd place, but that tie with Reading(after they got blown out 0-6 by Arsenal) have to wonder why the coach doesn't sub considering he has an all-star lineup on the bench? https://us.women.soccerway.com/matc.../wsl/manchester-city-lfc/reading-wfc/2872960/ I mean Beckie was the leading scorer over Sinclair last year for the Canadian NT. Nadim had it over Harder, scoring wise for Denmark
Matchday 8 Arsenal 3 Birmingham 1 Liverpool 0 Man City 3 West Ham 0 Chelsea 2 Yeovil 1 Everton 0 It is now a two horses race for the Champions league place, with Arsenal and City having opened a big gap over Birmingham and Chelsea. There was a huge result at the bottom of the table with Yeovil first win in two years and 41 games. Everton have now taken their place in the relegation zone. Here's how they stack up in the #FAWSL pic.twitter.com/r22LN0FlXu— Barclays Women's Super League (@BarclaysWSL) November 4, 2018 Nikita Parris is now the WSL all time goalscorer , clearly not the best role model for the sport with her Tom Daley's antics but nevermind.
Wow, congratulations to them!!! It must have been a very emotional win for the players: these are always nice stories! Actually, since I don't follow FAWSL much, I am not aware about Nikita Parris' behaviour (nor about Daley's one, actually, since I follow men's football even less! ): would you care to elaborate?
Tom Daley is a world champion and olympic bronze medal in diving. Parris like to moan a lot, was also suspended in the pass for going to the referee's room and insult them.
Oh, ok, I know Daley, but I had zeroed in on the idea that you were talking about a football player!!! Now I get the reference! I didn't know about Parris' antics and it sounds in fact disgraceful!
Everton Ladies now at the bottom of the table have sacked their manager. Rumour is he had lost the dressing room and when this happens it is time to go sadly. 🔵 | Andy Spence has left his role as head coach of Everton Ladies. The Club would like to express its gratitude to Andy for the service he has given to the Ladies team.https://t.co/Td69JcO0gv— Everton Women (@EvertonWomen) November 7, 2018
only in England would they suspend a ref over this??? Soccer ref suspended after subbing coin toss with rock, paper, scissors - AOL News
Ireland: Women's FAI Cup final winners were Wexford, 1-0 over Peamount United with Katrina Parrock scoring. The game at Dublin's Aviva Stadium was on RTÉ TV. Scotland: Scottish Women's Cup final was an easy win for Hibernian. That's 3 seasons in a row that they've taken both cups, but not the league. Matchday 9 in the FA WSL Arsenal's Jordan Nobbs is out for the season with an ACL injury and likely to miss the World Cup. Likely to struggle away to City in two weeks time. They had a 16,17 and 18 years old kids on the bench who all got a game against bottom placed Everton.
That's terrible luck for Nobbs--feel badly for her. It's a big blow for Arsenal and for the English NT, as she is an excellent player. Arsenal will not be the same as they have no one to replace her attacking qualities, and this loss comes on top of the loss of Little, so Arsenal is now without two of the best midfielders in the game. Tough.
Kim Little should be back in January, hopefully... but yeah the next four games before the winter break will be very difficult.

Not surprised that Arsenal got beat today. They just aren't the same team without Nobbs and Little. No team can be when it has lost two of the best players in the league.
Squad size mismanagement at its best. They had to put a 17 year old as a starter and the rest of the bench were 16,17 and 18. All the other senior players are injured.
We are at the Christmas break and Arsenal have been caught by Manchester City. They have wasted all their good work from the beginning of the season by losing that game away to City. City remain the only unbeaten team in the League. At the bottom of the table, it is a three way battle between Everton, Brighton and Yeovil with 5,4 and 3 points respectively. It will probably go all the way to decide which team will go down to the Championship. In the Championship, the only team that is fully professional Manchester United are top of the League, but Charlton are level with them. Durham and Spurs are one point behind them. The top two teams are allowed to ask for promotion, if they have enough money to become a full-time team.
