not much info(especially on how their going to qualify), but apparently all 4 confederations have agreed to come together as Great Britain for the 2020 Olympics https://shekicks.net/2018/10/01/teamgb-women-get-tokyo-2020-olympics-green-light/ last time though at the 2012 games, only 2 players outside England made the team. This time, possibly more, but Wales most notable players, Fishlock & Harding will be both be on their 30's. Scotland's Kim Little will mostly likely make it. Hopefully GB will get better CB's than Hougton & Bright(who been ailing as of late(so possibly Beatie & Corsie?) & at GK, WALES O'Sullivan
It is written in black and white in the article "England will be the nominated country to seek a qualification slot for Tokyo 2020 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019. The top three nations at the Women’s World Cup will qualify for the twelve-team Olympics."
Should be interesting! There's now a thread in the Olympics section: Great Britain team in 2020? - www.bigsoccer.com/threads/great-britain-team-in-2020.2087450/
Scotland: SWPL 1: Unbelievable title race this year... Undefeated Hibernian had been 6 goals behind Glasgow City in the table, but Hibs got a 5-0 win away at Stirling Uni, with an Abi Harrison hat-trick. On the same day, Glasgow City came close to disaster against Celtic: Postmatch interviews: Nicola Docherty and Kirsty Howat / City coach Scott Booth The next league game is the decisive one, Glasgow City v Hibernian on Oct 21, before the last matches of the season on Oct 28. By coincidence, Glasgow City and Hibs have also been drawn together for the Scottish Cup semi-final in Stirling next Sunday (Oct 14). Also a factor are the Champions League games, Barça v Glasgow City, on Oct 17 and Nov 1. Hibernian basically need to win in Glasgow to win the title, but City have lost at home only once in 4 league seasons. A draw would favour City, who have a +2 GD lead. SWPL 1 - two games to go 1 GlasgowC 19Pl 17W 2D 0L +60GD (69–9) 53pts 2 Hibernian 19Pl 17W 2D 0L +58GD (72–14) 53pts Hamilton have been relegated in 8th place, as they lost 5-2 to Rangers. Spartans made sure of survival with a 6-0 win over Forfar. Spartans are now looking forward to their Cup semi-final against SWPL 2 champions Motherwell. In SWPL 2, Aberdeen won their appeal against docked points, but they're still likely to finish 7th of 8 and be relegated. They have to beat EUHV and Hearts to be sure of survival.
Northern Ireland has its champions for 2018, as Linfield made it 3 titles in a row. Their title-winning match was a worthy contest against the 2nd-placed Glentoran, the cup-winners, who led 3-0 at half-time: Glentoran 3 - 5 Linfield (blue) (Makyla Mulholland 5, Alison McMaster 40, Rachel Rogan 45 / Rebecca McKenna 48, Kirsty McGuinness 52, Jessica Foy OG 78, Ashley Hutton 81, Rebecca Bassett 84) (Match report on NIFL / Archived) In Ireland, Wexford lead the league by 4 points with 2 games to go , but the defending champions dropped two points to Galway, while the title-chasing Peamount scored a 10-1 win over Limerick. The inaugural Irish Women's U17 National League was won by Shelbourne with a 2-0 win at Galway WFC yesterday. And in England the champions got thrashed at home 5-0: We fall to our first league defeat of the season. 👎 #CFCW pic.twitter.com/ENzX8Pyer7— Chelsea FC Women (@ChelseaFCW) October 14, 2018 Great result for Arsenal in any case. Highlights will be up later, but PippaTube was on the case at a rainy Kingsmeadow Stadium.
I did wonder who were the women filming next to me while I was interviewing a player lol they started filming and because it was in French they gave up lol

for those that don't got facebook, here's youtube highlights of the Arsenal/Chelsea Chelsea 0 - 5 Arsenal - Match highlights - FA WSL (14th October 2018) - YouTube here were the lineups https://us.women.soccerway.com/matches/2018/10/14/england/wsl/chelsea-lfc/arsenal-lfc/2872947/ Chelsea seems to have a very strong bench but sometimes it can work against you, as often shifting the starting lineups(to make room for all those players) can hurt the chemistry built by just sticking with a regular lineup. another point of interest is Chelsea & England's starting CB, Millie Bright(#4), coaches Emma Hayes & Phil Neville seems to love her; guess her tall size makes a tempting target on set plays. But to me she's one incredibly slow moving player(just watch the highlights. Definitely a dream come true for swift moving opponents like the US. England's chances at the WC can be well decided if only Neville can figure this out. Better choice would be Arsenal's Leah Wilkinson, she tall, slim, athletic, fast with a decent clearences & outlet passes. Kinda reminds me of Tierna Davidson!
Wow! I missed the fact that lowly Durham drew ManU the other week... Spurs look like the other team already pretty secure in the promotion spot, 3pts ahead of the Foxes with a game in hand... (Would make the top flight even more Premier-League-like than it already is!) Also have a game in hand over ManU while only 1pt behind! Even though ManU have been destroying the league much better than Spurs have, I wonder if they could upset ManU for the title. X-D
Kim Little out for at least 10 weeks with a broken fibula for a vicious tackle Arsenal and Scotland midfielder Kim Little has suffered a broken leg and will be out for up to 10 weeks after a challenge during Sunday's match against Chelsea. pic.twitter.com/4hdebjiA0t— Jo Currie (@JoCurrie) October 16, 2018 She is the third player injured in two weeks after Howells from London Bees and Galton from Man Utd and the FA does nothing as usual
Who is that that broke her leg--Parris? Terrible tackle. Maybe should have been a red card but hard to know from the angle above. Big loss for Arsenal as Little is an outstanding player.
Drew Spence. Who apparently had already slapped two players earlier in the game and also hit Little in the first half.
Players like these are a shame to the women's football. I hope Kim Little recovers soon. If I get it right, this shouldn't anyway put her WWC in danger, even including rehab, but it's a fact that she was in full form in this moment and coming back won't be easy anyway.
Yes Arsenal are punished, it is the old chestnut, one way to beat a team is to injure their best player for a long time.
Arsenal should have the tough German NT, Tabea Kemme, sooner or later start playing for them. She can play most positions. She's recovering from an ACL from last March, anybody knows what's happened to the other German girl, Pauline Bremer? She too suffered an horrific injury vs Everton, last year, Oct 7th. She's been out now for over an year & yet to make the roster for any of her Man City games
Little is a big loss. We might see the Arsenal coach move Van de Donk back to midfield--she played up front and wide against Chelsea, which is a bit of a strange position for a talented midfielder, but I guess we can say that lineup worked.
The Arsenal coach cannot drop Waelti, Little or Nobbs or Van De Donk the way they are performing so he had to shift Van de Donk on the wing, but with the formation being extremely flexible, it ends up at time with Nobbs up top and Miedema behind her and everybody else running everywhere in organized chaos. I dare to say that a Kim Little-less Scotland loses half of its potential. Sure, they have other good or very good players (Cuthbert comes to mind), but there is only Little who really makes the difference.
here's their roster for the game https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/k...ZnWpTFxjAjqDQwe64uEDkm7OvXMjA0gokwgZeUdUr0uSk they do have some good supporting players, especially their CB combo of Beattie/Corsie & upfront. Ross, Evans, Emslie, Clelland(who led the Italian league in scoring for a couple of years). But their missing a notable midfield now that Little is gone,\. like most English teams, they do like to run n gun, but don't really have the speed to keep up with the US, who love to run n gun(since they got an English coach) & obviously got the speed
