Sigi - This guy is just another Bruce Arena retread - winning MLS coach, what's that worth? I'm already hating his goalkeeper moves (TBD). Time for this guy to go, right? Discuss...
I've started the clock on him already he gets precious little time to turn it around. Since he's won MLS cup already he unfortunately gets less slack than that idiot who got fired today! Oh and by the way he better not wrap a freaking scarf around his neck! We don't roll like that here!
Unless he does abysmally, I give him this season. He's inheriting some poor decisions. However, I'll expect him to be all the better for it in 2018.
Explain. Promptly. There's a potential procedure to remove a spontaneous lunchtime tattoo riding on this!
Hahaha....I'm mistaken, just saw all the activity regarding Sigi being the Gs new skipper! Sorry for being late to the party!
The Galaxy FO saw the success the USMNT has had by going with a new/old coach, and decided to try it themselves!
It IS a little warmer here than in Seattle. But I wear a scarf at the games. Not sure why Sigi shouldn't. Or is it the wrapping the bugs you. I love it that we are even in a position to have this high level discussion.
I wear one too and since I sit in the top row on the upper deck, I've been known to wrap it around my neck. It gets pretty chilly up there with the breeze even on summer nights and I'm no spring chicken dammit and don't like getting sick!
It's the smug look he gets on his face when he parades around with that thing wrapped around his neck! It's him, not the scarf! haha Yeah, I love the scarfs - I take mine whenever I get to go to a game!
I wear my scarf every game, but I also sit in the upper deck. We get that breeze at night Sigi can wear whatever he wants as long as he fixes our problems and wins !! At least we are excited about watching our team again. Go Big Sig and Go Galaxy !!
Can't believe there's no posts in this thread since the game. Replacing Gio with Garcia late in a 0-0 game that really is a must-win game? So wrong on a number of levels. We just gave away any reasonable chance to make the playoffs with that game. I can only hope that Sigi gets a better handle on his lineup, right quick. Damn, I wish we had hired Bob Bradley instead.
Since Gio was a net negative every time he touched the ball he should have been pulled sooner. It's too bad that this roster as constructed gave Sigi no options better than Rafa, but I guess Sigi had seen enough of the Gio.
So, when the whole season is on the line, and you need a goal to win, you're OK replacing Gio with Garcia? Is that what you're saying? Or do you think that going defensive with Garcia to preserve a 0-0 draw was OK for Sigi's first game, and we still have time to recover the season? Right now, I must say Onalfo is looking more tactically astute than what I saw from Sigi last night. And that's not really saying anything for Onalfo.
You really make a habit of missing the point, don't you? The POINT IS (and try to follow along here, I will go slow) Gio was a negative who was killing plays and totally ineffective. If we were going for a goal with him on the pitch we might as well have been playing with only 10 men. Rafa was not a good option - if you look again at my post you will see I never said that - what I said was Sigi didn't have a good option. Gio had already proved that on the night he was not going to do anything useful.
