Romney is grossly underpaid but it used to be much worse. In 2007 fifteen of our players were on salaries less than $100k and a third of those were making less than 20k! Sadly many of these players were still overpaid. 2007 LAG total payroll: $9.3M
So here is a list of significant players that have come and gone in Klein's illustrious time as our President (Jan. 2013) (* Won MLS Cup for the Galaxy) (# Were signed and traded by him Today (last two seasons) it has been easy to see why we blew these games. We don't have any players that have played with us for any significant time and have no ties to the our teams winning tradition. They don't understand what it means to play for the LA Galaxy, and their hearts are not invested in the LA Galaxy (minus Roman / Llegett / Rodgers / JVD for a time). In the last two years since Bruce moved on and he revamped the team (3 new coaches). Then with a new team coming to town, it was a time when we needed to be at least the status quo (results wise). Instead we have been at our WORST. Klein's constant bullshit about "continuing to do things the way we have always done" has been his mantra of the systematic destruction of the championship history that was built before him. He is the disease that our club contracted and it needs to be removed if we are going to recover and go back to being the LA Galaxy. But of course all of us on this board already know this. Don't disagree with the bottom line, but in fairness some of those head-scratcher moves are on Bruce. Klein is bad enough. No need to dress up the point by ascribing to him some of the things Bruce did.
LAG had all the hallmarks of a great organization just a few years ago. Where are the built accomplishments of the Chris Klein era? We have journeymen players, no consistent coaching staff, our marketing is getting killed by crosstown rivals, I'm not making much sense but I'm so disappointed. We need new leadership. We are the club that signed Jermaine Jones to f with our locker room, invested in Curt Onalfo for years, and our overall defense this year was rightfully enough to get Sigi fired and should jettison Vagenas or anyone else responsible as well. All under Chris Klein's "leadership". What will 2019 bring? A new coach is not enough to fix this.

There is no plan. Klein, Vagenas and Kirovski were like kids in the candy store, couldn't wait to get rid of Arena and Sarachan, and they failed miserably. Ugh.
This is an old story...Kids inheriting what their elders spent their lives building, and then squandering it all in a mess of arrogance and ignorance. As Dudley Moore and Peter Cook could vouch for, it's Bedazzled all over again.
The most surprising thing about that article is how unsurprising it is. The fact the anonymous quotes are nearly verbatim observations made on this board actually makes me a little skeptical about their authenticity. There are times when a seemingly stable entity blows up and years later the insider scoop shows it was a wildly dysfunctional entity operating under a paper thin veneer of normalcy. The Galaxy FO are so unprofessional they can’t even present the appearance of competence.
Is it too late to bring back Bruce Arena?? Even as President as a replacement for Klein. Or is he in full on retirement mode?

The above quote from Klein tells me everything I need to know about how out of his depth he has been as President of the Galaxy, and how inadequate he is now.
