The Colorado Rapids had three coaches this season. Two of their coaches have a better ppg throughout the season than Caleb Porter. They sit 4 points ahead of Columbus. What a magical season.
The way the Haslam family goes through coaches in the NFL those of you who wish to fire Porter May see your wish come true this year
Has anyone considered that the reason we don’t have a sponsor is that Caleb Porter is a toxic asshole?
I'd be willing to bet that Bez and Lyons know that Caleb isn't the most polished sales professional and therefore keep him out of the process altogether or, at least, his gladhanding to and absolute minimum. Edit: But then again, three months ago I was willing to bet that Bez and Lyons were on top of the sponsorship thing. I'm not sure I know what to think anymore.
The more you know moment for the night. Caleb Porter was instrumental in Akron securing the funds needed and the push for the renovations at the beautiful field and stadium for the Zips. But that is not my opinion. Pretty much fact here from anyone who worked at UA at that time. He was pushed into the front and center for fundraising. But that was ten or so years ago, and from what you would be lead to believe around here, Caleb is just a huge asshole now.
Yeah. I somehow manage to forget from time to time how central he was to getting that project funded. Sure, a ton of that was "speaking on the field", but the amount of shoulder-rubbing required is very underestimated, especially at that time around the University and business communities.
A colleague, who worked over in UA athletics for something like 18 years, said Caleb was so driven and passionate about the project. He felt it rested on his shoulders, and he had to make it happen. ...What a real asshole.
It also shouldn't be forgotten that Porter is a Hoosier. What the hell, in theory, did he care about some way-past-its-prime Rust Belt city that has morphed into an overgrown university town encased in clouds 5 months of the year? Is there evidence that he yearns for Thai or Nepali cuisine? The only potential impression Akron could have made on him was that in his formative years, UA and IU had a pretty decent rivalry in soccer.
It's comforting that more than a decade on some are still talking about Porter's time in Akron. Considering he can barely manage the most well reinforced team in Crew history team past the 2nd string Phoenix Rising maybe he can go back to Akron and eat shitty drive-in through burgers while making lewd comments to the high school girls working there about winning mentality. Perhaps he'll even still be received as a hero. What a joke. Save the Crew. Fire Caleb Porter.
I still remember watching the full USMNT play the Richmond Kickers in a WC '02 warmup match in Cary, NC. Terrible performance. Match ended 2-2. I mean, there was no way Arena and that bunch of uninspired bozos who couldn't muster the skill to wipe the pitch against a lower division team had any shot at playing well in the World Cup, right?
Do you just copy/paste your shit with slight modifications into every thread? I'd suggest you see a doctor for your anger and anxiety and stay off these pages for a few months. Your blood pressure may thank you for it.
