You are certainly right that poor economic conditions lead to violence often; just look at South America in much of the last 40 years, or North Africa 7 years ago.

While the US has been blessedly able to avoid this for the most part, the downturn, when it comes, has the potential to be very nasty, and we are way, way overdue.

 

"ahem" was an under-thought reply! I'm over thinking it again right now. Is it read in an incredulous manner calling in to question all that it is in reply to? Is it pointing out a specific error within the quoted text? Your intent, for it to call attention to current events in our own country did not register as a possibility in my mind.

Yes, indeed this thread served as a tether to show Porter had a group of online message board nerds who would be the port in his unemployed storm.

If nothing else, I hope we don't hire him just so we don't have to read hang whinging about his hatred of Porter for the next 5 years...
