Except for the 2003 draft. The 2003 draft was exceptional and provided a solid foundation for the Crew.
I know not everyone here listens to Crew podcasts, even I find it hard to keep up. I have had sources tell me that one such Crew podcast broke the news this week that CALEB PORTER is an anagram for RECTAL PROBE. Go Crew.
We drafted: Diego Walsh, traded our 2d rd pick to MetroStars for Nelson Akwari, Michael Ritch, Guy Abrhamson and Jake Traeger. Other players drafted that year who eventually played for the Crew: Eddie freaking Gaven, Brian Carroll, Ricardo Clark, and Pat Noonan. Yes, Diego Walsh was drafted before Gaven and Carroll.
I love that Caleb isn’t going to be the Techincal Director and leave those decisions to others. It creates a clear understanding of who is doing what (once that person is hired). Caleb is going to coach who he is given and his value will be judged on the field and not get tied up with his recruitment success. I dont think any team should let their coach also be the GM/TD.
Of course he will be a part of the process but he isn’t going to run the show or have the final say. I think its a smarter way to set up a team.

In one photo, a solitary man with no friends, presumably speaking to nobody..... 1088123327489732608 is not a valid tweet id In another photo, #MyPresident having the attention of the full squad and staff. Keeping them enraptured. Smiling. Waiting, yearning, and needing every syllable that Bez delivers. What a man.
It took me about 8 seconds. 10 if you count the edit to the hashtag. I still have energy for all my other extracurricular activities. But, I appreciate your concern. #Blessed
This guy brought in that shitbag Matt Reis to work with our goalkeepers. I'm not sure what's worse....his blatant disrespect for Columbus history or his judgement of talent and character. 5 more years. Calgon, take me away......
And Meyer brought in one of Penn State's top assistants and his successor brought in a Michigan man.... tOSU brought in Mais who was IU all the way through and a huge rival to tOSU in soccer. This is called real life. Now if he'd brought in Rasov or Blanco....
Razov redeemed himself ever so slightly with gems like this: "The Crew dealt Razov after he was benched by Columbus coach Greg Andrulis, whom Razov had characterized as an idiot." https://nypost.com/2005/06/19/mstar-raz-zes-old-club/
As I recall, the actual quote had Razov confronting Andrulis in the locker room, looking him square in the eye and saying: "You're an idiot, and I will never play for you again" It was my signature for a long time.
