No. Because I want him sacked for the comments the other day. I know it's not gonna happen but what he said was a disgrace and an affront to the supporters of Columbus Crew.
There aren't a lot of Andy Geigers around who would walk away from a great job on principle. He wasn't perfect by any means, but I respected him for that.
I'll note for those on the Fire GGGG bandwagon that this team set a franchise record for home wins this year with 12. Combined with winning in the first round and getting to the conference semis, he's done enough, Mind you, we all want more--and we shall see. Looking forward to tonight.
Come on! F*9|< you Precourt for taking up all the oxygen so a gem like this will just go by with nothing. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...g-berhalter-emerging-leagues-master-tactician
Not fired, but out? Donovan suggests Berhalter as a potential USMNT head coach: https://www.si.com/soccer/2017/11/09/landon-donovan-us-soccer-president-election-sunil-gulati
I'm surprisingly fine with that. Maybe he will have better success when he has a larger talent pool to choose from like that. He certainly can spend more time on tactics and scouting. And he doesn't have to be bothered with mundane BS like contracts etc.
I dunno. I know he's been a little more flexible this season, but he's still a system guy. My personal feeling on a NT coach is that they need to be the type that figures what system best fits their best players, not the other way around.
So, with Porter now gone, does anyone think 3G will jump for the Portland job? He gets out of Columbus and into one of the biggest MLS markets with a good team. Doesn't have to deal with the relocation anymore, gets, arguably, better funding for better players and is on the West Coast. Josh Wolf gets the interim badge for the lame-duck 2018 Crew season and when the Crew leave at the end of 2018, Precum launches a campaign to find a brand new coach for his brand new team in his brand new city.
Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone has any expected goal data for the playoffs. I mean we are in the Eastern Conference Finals which is nice. But we have failed to score in 3 out of the 4 playoff games we have played. It's almost like some teams and coaches have figured out that there is a way to stop Columbus Crew, and that Berhalter doesn't have a plan b. However, I'm sure that the xGoal data will show that this attractive brand of soccer we are playing should have resulted in at least two more 4-1 victories.
