I know we won it all when our record hit 6-0-3. But, what was the final record for our reserve team?

Did we make up the games for:

    6/2 vs Toronto FC
    7/9 vs NY Red Bulls

How did we do against Salt Lake on 10/21?

We did make up the Toronto game, and we won that one 3-1 I think. To the best of my knowledge we did not make up the NYRB game. The game v. SLC on 10/21 was called off on account of the snow.

This is all from my shaky* memory and not referenced off the web.

*been reading too much Ives apparently :)

By my count this is the final table, but there are 5 games that were apparently not played:

    Code:
19-Aug	Sun. Los Angeles Galaxy New York Red Bulls
1-Jul	Sun. Columbus Crew New York Red Bulls
10-Jun	Sun. Chivas USA Chicago Fire
9-Jul	Mon. New York Red Bulls Colorado Rapids
21-Oct	Sun. Real Salt Lake Colorado Rapids
What's funny is that NY could have caught the Rapids, it appears.

    Code:
    [B] W	L	D	Pts	GF	GA	GD[/B]
    10	1	Colorado	7	0	3	24	22	8	14
    11	2	Chivas USA	6	3	2	20	25	23	2
    12	3	New England	6	4	2	20	20	14	6
    12	4	Kansas City	6	5	1	19	22	19	3
    12	5	DC United	4	3	5	17	16	12	4
    12	6	Dallas 4	4	4	16	17	18	-1
    11	7	Real Salt Lake	5	6	0	15	19	17	2
    9	8	New York	5	4	0	15	14	15	-1
    11	9	Columbus	4	4	3	15	17	14	3
    12	10	Toronto 3	5	4	13	14	19	-5
    12	11	Houston 3	6	3	12	16	21	-5
    11	12	Chicago 2	6	3	9	12	19	-7
    11	13	Los Angeles	2	7	2	8	14	29	-15

Also posted on this at Reserve team RESULTS.

Other than the 5 games that were not played, also noticed that MLS swapped around the hosts for a few postponed games, i.e.:

    1. 5/6 Sun. New York Red Bulls at Real Salt Lake Rescheduled; new date TBA
bacame 9/29 Sat. Real Salt Lake at New York Red Bulls - NY, 3-1

    2. 6/2 Sat. Colorado Rapids at Toronto FC Rescheduled; new date TBA
became 10/7 Sun. Toronto FC at Colorado Rapids - COL, 3-0

    3. 8/6 Mon. Los Angeles Galaxy at Toronto FC
became 10/13 Sat. Toronto FC at Los Angeles Galaxy - TFC, 1-0

While these changes made sure that at least some of the postpone fixtures were fulfilled, it severely messed-up the home/away balance of the season.

If the 5 missing games are eventually played with the same host set-ups, NYRB may end up playing as many as 8 home games but CLB & TFC would play just 4(!!), instead of the original 6H-6A case.

P/S: The 2005 edition had no missing games, while there's only 1 in 2006.

By the way, why was Chivas placed above New England? As they never met each other during the season (thus no head-to-head records), shouldn't GD be the tie-breaker?

My guess is because NE had one more loss than Chivas (albeit NE played one more game, but none-the-less).

MLSNet has updated the 2007 final standings some time back & confirmed Chivas USA as the Runners-up. Just wanted to know how was that decided?(other than the PPG possibility as discussed earlier)

Also posted this question on Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:MLS_Reserve_Division), please feel free to chip-in...

By the way, the 2008 Reserve Division Schedule is not yet out right (as at Feb-17)?

Just checked the past seasons, as with the senior team, Chivas reserves really had an amazing turn-around since 2005:

    2005: 12th out of 12 (senior: 12th out of 12),
    2006: 8th out of 12 (senior: 6th out of 12),
    2007: 2nd out of 13 (senior: 2nd out of 12)!!

As for New England, they were:

    2005: 3rd out of 12,
    2006: 12th out of 12,
    2007: 3rd out of 13.
(so they either finish 3rd or dead last, :)

Any chance they're aiming to play more than 12 games in 2008 for the reserves?

Since there are 14 teams, I hope so.

I suspect the limited schedule is the result of financial considerations.

I'm sure it is, but there must be someone who sees the benefits the reserve teams have already had and that more games will mean more benefits.

word on the street is that reserve sides will only play teams in their own conference, one home and one away in order to minimize costs. if that's true additional games don't seem likely

The 2008 Reserve Division Schedule is out at http://web.mlsnet.com/mls/reserve/.

However, there's a problem with it: 4 teams are playing a game short (11) as compared to the others (12): Chicago, KC, LA & RSL.

    Must be a mistake...

Upon verifying against http://www.ussoccer-data.com/Action.lasso?-Search, the missing games from MLSNet are:

    [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Sun, Sep 7, 2008 The Home Depot Center; Carson, CA[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]10:00 AM (Local) [/FONT][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Real Salt Lake Reserves @ Los Angeles Galaxy Reserves[/FONT]

    [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Sun, Oct 5, 2008 Swope Park, Kansas City, MO[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]04:30 PM (Local) [/FONT][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Chicago Fire Reserves @ Kansas City Wizards Reserves[/FONT]

Now each team plays 12 (6 home/6 away)...

One more thing, the official site listed that CLB, NYRB & RSL finished 7th, 8th & 9th respectively, have updated the same at corresponding wiki page.

While CLB & RSL have never met in the season, NYRB did play both & won:
    5/20, NY 2-1 CLB
    9/29, NY 3-1 RSL

So, these should be their ranking, by:
    1) GD, 7.CLB, 8.RSL, 9.NY.
    2) H2H, 7.NY, 8.CLB, 9.RSL.
    3) PPG, 7.NY, 8.CLB, 9.RSL.

As with the Chiv-NE tie, I wondered what were the tie-breakers here. Any clues?
