Well it looks like we'll play on counter, so yeah. I think we can get a draw in Montevideo.

you guys will be alright. not because you are any good, though you are extremely lucky, but because 1) Uruguay isn't particularly impressive, 2) Ecuador is highly unlikely to beat Chile in Santiago...

Anyways, the game in Montevideo is the more important one, but with two malfunctioning teams, its likely to be a bit of a bore. Chile-Ecuador should be one for the ages, given Ecuador's need to score and to win, and Chile's philosophy

To be honest i while both results are difficult to happen, i see a better chance of us winning in Uruguay than Ecuador winning in Chile. I think Uruguay-Argentina will be a very tense and rough match, that's why i'm seeing a draw as a big possibility.

I don't know. between argentina and uruguay you have about 20 minutes of time wasting, 10 minutes of dudes faking injuries, 5 minutes just diving, and another 25 minutes complaining to the ref... but the remaining half hour could be very interesting

The matter is that simply losing may not to do it for Argentina to get eliminated depending on the result of our match, a draw kills any possibility of us being eliminated and to force the play-off they should win by over 5 goals would Chile even allow another team to score 5 goals at their ground for that?

Ecuador is not beating Chile in Chile. Uruguay and Argentina are going to the WC. End of story. What happened in Quito made sure that Uruguay got a spot.

I don't think Argentina can even muster a tie. For one, Maradona has yet to get a point outside of Buenos Aires--not even Argentina. And 2: uruguay has a fantastic home record. Right now Argentina is horrendous in defense, (48 hours of rest/practice isn't going to change anything for this game) and Uruguay is going to attack the entire game--at home!

The only way Argentina is going to tie is if the referee red-cards a uruguayan player early in the game (And after seeing the refereeing in the last games...well, that may be possible), and then sending another one off in the final 10-15 minutes.

Quote from above "I don't know. between argentina and uruguay you have about 20 minutes of time wasting, 10 minutes of dudes faking injuries, 5 minutes just diving, and another 25 minutes complaining to the ref... but the remaining half hour could be very interesting"

Classic. Best example is Canada U-20 Chile vs Argentina.

Gotta love Uruguay, just when you think their done they find a way to survive and get back in it.

They have been fuking up at home in these qualifiers, hopefully they don't slip against Argentina. Would be funny to see the ches in a playoff aganst Concacaf.

Chile won't lay down for Ecuador, Bielsa wants his country in. Ecuador is gonna have to fight tooth and nail against a very good Chilean team to have a shot at qualifying.

I think both games will be awesome. Anything can happen in Conmebol, it's the most competitive region in the world. But I expect Argentina to win in Montevideo and Chile to beat Ecuador. We'll see if I'm right.

    a proposito
