*Gasp* BLASPHEMY!!!!! How dare you mention that which must not be mentioned?! *Slaps* For the record, Iran has been cursed. We invoke the curse after winning the cup 3 times in a row. #TripleBackToBackChampionsCurse Look it up.
The sitution is changed most likely. Korea vs Kuwait match cancelled. Korea plays a friendly against Thailand instead of their WCQ match against Kuwait. If Saudi Arabia wins against Uae and assume Uzbekistan wins its March matches, Korea will be probably in your pot instead of Japan. If Saudi Arabia vs Uae ends in draw, Saudi Arabia will be in your pot. If Uae wins against Saudi Arabia, Uae will be in your pot.
it's not cancelled, it's postponed so logically a 3-0 win for Korea. Korean asked fifa if the 2 games will give them points or only game vs Thailand.
It is cancelled. "South Korea's World Cup qualifier against Kuwait has been cancelled due to the FIFA ban on the Gulf nation, the Korean Football Association said on Friday." You will have one of these three teams in your pot most likely South Korea, Saudi Arabia, or Uae. The outcome of Uae vs Saudi Arabia determines that. If you are afraid of having any Asian team in your group then what is the point of trying to qualify to the WC? In the WC you are going to get stronger teams than any Asian team. Of course every one wants to have the best seed and draw but you must be prepared for every scenario.
"The KFA said it will ask FIFA if South Korea's friendly match and a potential forfeit victory over Kuwait will both count toward the ranking points" http://m.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20160311000484&RURL=https://www.google.fr/#jyk Let's wait the decision of the disciplinary committee..
First of all, we should qualify to WC, it's the most important objective for us, then we'll see what would happen, because up to now, Uzbekistan never disgraced Asia in U-17 and U-20 World Cups, in the last U-20 WC-2015 in New Zealand, we made it to quarterfinals, while other Asian teams couldn't go further even from group stage
Senior level is way different than those levels. For example, Iran u17 team made it to the second round of u17 world cup two times or Nigeria u17 team won the last two u17 world cups.
Nigeria cheats and this has been addressed even by other African nations with similar result to Iraqi team. It is hard to prove.
if you mean 1/8 by second round, it's nothing and very easy to achieve taking into account that 16 from 24 teams participate in this round, but Uzbekistan U-19 twice and U-17 once qualified to quarterfinals, it deserves attention
I checked the Fifa site again. It seems that Korea will not be awarded 3-0 win against Kuwait for Fifa ranking but Korea will get the same amount of points that they could have gotten against Kuwait if they win their away friendly game against Thailand. You can have Japan in your pot, If Saudi Arabia wins against Uae and other favorite teams win their matches. You can also have Korea in your Pot if they do not win both of their March matches, and the result of Uae vs Saudi Arabia can be meaningless for Uzbekistan in that case . You have good chance to see any of these teams in your pot Japan, Uae, Korea, Saudi Arabia, etc. It depends on the results of March matches. We will see. Personally I want to see Uzbekistan in WC 2018 but not at Iran's expense. Another thing I hope for Uzbekistan national team is that after the end of Babayan era, your federation hires a foreign coach for a few years who has managed at least a national team like Mexico or Chile for a few years if not the likes of France, Italy, etc and qualified to the second round of the WC. Nurafshon, btw which one do you prefer to have in your group if Iran and Australia becomes in the same pot? Why?
Unfortunately, no foreign coach will be hired as long as the current federation's boss will not give the helm to anybody else. I don't care whether it will be Iran or Aussies. But would be nice to be in one pot with Japan or Korea (this time seriously)
we must wait the Disciplinary Committee's decision to know if FIFA will award Korea a 3-0 win. I asked FIFA when they will take this ***** decision about Kuwait, they replied: "Please understand that in general we cannot provide timeframes as every matter depends on specific elements."
At this point, Korea vs Kuwait match is removed from Fifa website. Korea will get the same amount of points that they could have gotten against Kuwait if they win their away friendly game against Thailand.
Not sure but I think Fifa did not add it. They removed Kuwait matches from ranking calculation since Fifa suspended Kuwait football.
So then how come Korea get the same ranking points if they win Thailand, since points given to FM and official FIFA matches are calculated differently? And it is also not fair to Myanmar too, FIFA awarded a 3:0 victory, but no ranking points, what if they were leading the group? It would negatively affect to their POT in d final round.
If they dont give them fifa rankings, what's the meaning? Better to cancel kuwait's results.. Because teams are playing to get fifa rankings
Seeding for final round: Pot 1: Iran, Australia Pot 2: South Korea, Japan Pot 3: Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan Pot 4: UAE, China Pot 5: Qatar, Iraq Pot 6: Syria, Thailand Now we can say that all teams are seeded very evenly.
One football expert was just wrote in another thread that no matter what result will be in UAE-SAU match, we will be in POT 4, and a bunch of users liked his post. I hope yours is more accurate

Um, I think theres a small far, far, far, far, far south-eastern Asian country missing from the list; and yet you add 3 UEFA teams ?
