Fifa now has their international calendar set through 2018 (link on the bottom of the Fifa front page): http://www.fifa.com/mm/Document/WorldFootball/Calendar&Live/02/03/95/26/IMC2013-2018FIFA.pdf Post-2014, "friendly" matchdays are off the schedule. Only "double dates" are listed, along with any known continental finals. number of matchdays by half-year: 2014 (last half): 6 2015 (first half): 4 2015 (second): 6 2016 (first): 4 2016 (second): 6 2017 (first): 4 2017 (second): 6 2018 (first): 2 If you use June-July of the even years, you might squeeze two more matchdays out of those years. You might have to do that if the hexagonal is still in play during 2017 (yes, I know, odd-year), since the November 2017 days would be the playoff days. My minor gripe is that this is entirely Europe-based, and the other confederations have to fit their schedules (for both qualifying and continental finals) into the listed matchdays. I don't think that Fifa will be as lenient as in the past, in terms of confederations holding any official matches outside of these. (I remember Bobby McMahon giving an advance warning about this, once.)
