This game will likely be the turning point of our World Cup run. Hopefully, the Colombia train will be in full swing by this game.

*If we drop any points to Japan, we must win this game to increase our chances to advance to the KO round.
*If we beat Japan, 3 points from Poland will guarantee us advancement to the knockout round; any dropping of points against Poland will make the 3rd game against Senegal critical (goal difference may be crucial here)

**The big matchup here will be James vs. Lewandowski who know each other well from playing together at Bayern. Our defense can't afford to give Lewa any space inside or near the 18 otherwise Ospina will be in for a tough day.

The clash in styles will be fascinating. They struggle against more dynamic styles traditionally - but they are solid and with Lewandoski capable of scoring anytime...

Watched that Poland vs Lithuania match and Poland looked really good in all their lines. I know it was a meaningless friendly but Lewy is no freaking joke. He is in amazing form. Reminds me of the prime Falcao scoring from insane angles with shoot to score ratios that are just hard to look over. Their passes tend to be a bit more telegraphed than more of the skillful play teams like France but that was a very solid performance.

One thing that makes me feel good is just how organized Colombia can be. They are very measured and really a tough team to penetrate. Pretty sound defensively. It's like we want to tire out the other team and than attack. Tough to watch but effective. Also hoping that the Senegal vs Poland match takes a toll on both teams and nets out a tie so that we can have even the smallest advantage.

Really really tough group and tough game to call. Vamos Colombia.

Poland are very poor in the air, their attacks primarily concentrate on the wings so our full backs need to be in top form and they will most likely need some support from someone when their wingers attack.

not sure personally, I'd assume Mojica would start but I think they are different types of full backs. Im not sure if Mojica is better than Diaz as a defender.

No big deal, I was just shocked, I remember the "penpal"institution was huge in the days before email and social media, but now, when it's so easy to contact someone in a different part of the world in a few seconds, I thought people no longer do this.

Have to change things up in this one big time..
I would like to see Uribe get some minutes, He played so well against France.
Mina get some minutes because of his physical and height presence.
Maybe Muriel but it seems like he is not in the plans for some reason so maybe Borja getting minutes (not as starter).

James and Uribe should definitely play. With them Quintero or Borja, depending on the formation.

I don't see the point of bringing Muriel if he's not in the plans. Today was the perfect game for him tho...
Uribe is a must. I'm sick of seeing this overly physical style when we play with a single striker who can't impact the game if he doesn't get service.

James...if he's not in shape, forget it. Quintero is a huge downgrade from in-form James, but Quintero showed balls today. I think, huffing and puffing, he would have brought more to the end of the match than James did..

Agree about Muriel. i don't get the lack of faith. until i'm proven wrong by Bacca, i don't get what he adds to the NT....in 11 vs 11, Bacca is usually quiet let alone 10 vs 11 :(

Agree about Uribe - WTF - Uribe featured in the last 6 games in a row only to not play today???

there better be some late night strategy sessions between now and sunday

Pekerman has to go all out; there's no excuse for him. Hows James from today?

Anyone else notice, after James came on we lost it. I think the James substitution screwed us. Yes I know its James, but dude clearly wasn't fit.

He should not have come in. Total blunder that sub, and Bacca was bad, too. We needed pace and length. Neither give that.

What the hell is going on with the medical staff here? Too many guys getting banged up

But how do we know it was James' fault? Maybe the team started to get tired at that point? James barely touched the ball.

Btw, Poland wasn't as good as I expected today.
