I have no idea if it's any good, and my electricity came back after it had already started yesterday, but Universal HD is airing a two-hour show called FIFA 2006 World Cup Film: The Grand Finale. I think the next broadcast is scheduled for 09/20 at 5:00 p.m. Like I said, I don't know if it's good but it's soccer-related and it's in HD. Those are normally two checkmarks in the positive column.
You know, it's not bad. I've watched parts of it on and off. English Commentator doesn't talk too much, a lot of highlights with dialog pre and post the movement. Shots are mostly field level too, so it's a different experience than watching the real match.
Kind of an NFL Films look at the World Cup if I had to compare it to anything. You're right FF, Soccer + HD gives anything a half chance. This is worth a watch.
I loved watching it when I got it awhile back. If anyone missed it on TV and really wants to see it, I've got the DVD, let me know.
