Don't know the details but some update or something or other was ruining PS3's. Only the non-slim ones I think. Not really sure what exactly is going on.

Not a PS3 guy but my two of roommates have them and nothing happened to either of theirs.

So I thought my 360 had the red rings of death two weeks ago. Today I finally go through all the hooplah to send it in. Last thing I do is plug it into my sister's power cord to see if I could get the disc out... no red rings. So not only has my console been fine the whole time but I think the problem is my power cord, which I don't believe is covered under the extended 3-year Three Red Lights warranty so I'm gonna have to buy a new one. To make matters even worse, EVERYTHING for my 360 is in my apartment which is 2 hrs away and I won't be back to school until Sunday night:mad::mad:

If it's the 3 red rings it's almost definitely NOT your power cord. It's an overheating issue that will no doubt come back.

That's a good point because I made sure to check my power cord after the fact and it had the green light. I have had trouble some trouble with freezing and my 360 sounds like a jet engine sometimes. It happened during a long game of Halo:ODST Firefight which takes forever. My roommate and I were in the middle of a long game when we went to eat... came back and red rings. I didn't think of that, L>G, but you're probably right. I could literally ship my 360 tomorrow when I wake up, do you think that's the best move?

sportscribe, my XBL tag is: "Tom Harkin BYAH" and my year of Live just renewed last week:)I'll be online again as soon as possible.

There was a PSN problem 2 days ago. Older systems (the fat ones) could not connect to PSN. Games with dynamic trophies like FIFA, COD, etc could not load. This issue was resolved the next day. It started Sunday around 4pm and was fixed around midday Monday.

The whole PSN virus thing is a hoax.

i've gone through about 4 or 5 xboxs now, never had to pay for any except the first. my recommendation is take the time to send it back, you'll end up with a new system and a better chance of it not happening again as they get closer to permanent fixes. we could talk for days about these issues but just send it in. inconvenient i know.

on the PS3, if you have a new slim, no worries. or better yet, if you haven't encountered problems yet, you probably won't. i think they fixed it. it was a date issue, when march 1st rolled in, it reset the PSN clock for some reason.

ODST is known to overload systems. its part of the AI, thats why in matchmaking you won't get any lag, but in firefight you can get a ton of button lag, instead of the process trying to work out the actions of 4-8 players, it has to figure out those actions, along with the likes of up to about 16 AI players that the computer has to control. i've read all of these issues shouldn't be a problem in HALO: Reach, they've reworked the processing so on screen AI will run smoother and there will be a LOT more, which is good for co-op campaign.

who all on here is online? plays FIFA? sorry, i'm getting to the party late, i know.

My PS3 died after the leap year glitch (along with thousands of others but Sony keeps denying it).
