Re: Feilhaber at AGF Aarhus (5) [R]: Ben and Jerry make like a banana and... Ives: "UPDATE: The Union officially passed on Feilhaber to maintain its No. 2 spot in the allocation order. The Revolution used its allocation spot to acquire Feilhaber, though it's unclear whether the team will keep him or trade his rights."
Re: Feilhaber at AGF Aarhus (5) [R]: Ben and Jerry make like a banana and... I made a woopsidedaisy because Cochrane thinks he has a sense of humor tweeting he got traded. Right now New England Revolution hold Benny Feilhaber's rights, but a slew of teams are putting offers on the table for him now. I believe New England has 24 hours to weigh offers before he is permanently theirs. this one fits like a glove New England need him desperately. In a league thats improved very notably in the past two years, they still remain woefully bad (in what ive seen from MLS this year with matchday live, the worst team in the league). This is a player that makes them better. Not sure about playoff better, but at least a functional side.
Re: Feilhaber at AGF Aarhus (5) [R]: Ben and Jerry make like a banana and... Houston still wants him and he would be a great fit for that team, especially now that they have Koke. Chivas USA is likely holding out to sign Ze Roberto and another USMNT player this summer by allocation, though, I think Adam Serrano tweeted he heard that one possible player thought to be returning to MLS this summer will not. So CUSA apparently lost the opportunity to get someone like Bocanegra, Johnson, Beasley, etc. even though they passed on Feilhaber.
Re: Feilhaber at AGF Aarhus (5) [R]: Ben and Jerry make like a banana and... Feilhaber in New England.....EWWWWW.
Re: Feilhaber at AGF Aarhus (5) [R]: Ben and Jerry make like a banana and... now now be nice , this is exactly what the allocation process is supposed to do; benefit crappy teams so theyre no longer crappy. and honestly speaking, New England is freakin crappy. Their own fans would emphatically agree. Its like San Jose Earthquakes 2008 bad. Benny helps their plight alot. He will make them less "ewwww". Now if they grab the right DP as well they might become something formidable. Nicol's been resigned to the "man these guys SUCK" role that Kinnear has been forced to be in because of parity. both these guys are good coaches, they just gotta wait for their carousel to come around again. Edit EDIT: story to come on chron.com, but a high ranking official just told me @HoustonDynamo is actively trying to acquire USMNT player Feilhaber. This thing isnt done yet. Rumors are now that Nicol doesnt like this one bit and didnt want to bring him in. Now again.....Houston is trying to swing a deal. As someone else said, this has got to be against spending money/being under the cap, but if thats the excuse Chivas USA and NE Revs are using that is pretty weak sauce, both of them should be well under the cap. Passing on Benny is going to be devastating to a reasonable portion of both fanbases IMO. For the first time, we could see some legit calls for Nicol's head from what was once a very loyal fanbase up in the northeast. For New England's sake, they gotta hope that its a hell of a trade. Im talking the allocation spot, allocation money, a first round draft pick, Will Briun all packed into it, or something of the like. Theyre gonna need to make Houston bleed in order for this thing to not look rediculous.
If there is one team in the entire world that is going to completely suck the life out of Benny's game, it is New England. Oh well, now I'll go to at least 2 more of their games than I normally would. BTW, thanks Ceres.
the whole point of the Krafts is to seem like they have a REAL TEAM while never paying anyone. They got rid of Laurentowicz because he was becoming accomplished enough to expected to be paid some real money. So naturally they got rid of him as fast as possible. Before that idea spread.
NOW its official: New England decline the offers from Houston. Benny Feilhaber now with the New England Revolution. Guess they arrived at the conclusion that Houston had nothing to offer that would benefit from a trade. Smart move, makes New England better. Hopefully theyre able to use him correctly. Sharlie-Benny in the middle is gonna be fun to watch
If that happens. In NE's 4-5-1, Phelan and McCarthy have been the DM's and Joseph the CM in front of them. It might be logical to shift Joseph back and drop either Phelan or McCarthy, so that Feilhaber can play the CM position. http://www.football-lineups.com/team/New_England_Revolution/Major_League_Soccer_2011/Campaign/ But is that what NE will actually do? Might Feilhaber actually play LM instead, as he has for most of his time with Aarhus? Which of these players is the weakest pro and most likely to sit with Feilhaber's arrival -- McCarthy, Phelan, Nyassi, Boggs (or Perovic)? It will be interesting to see. Benny's never really been a starting CM as a club player. Will NE try it?
I think you will more likely see a hybrid 4-4-2. [LINEUP-4-4-2]Lekic, Perovic, Feilhaber, Joseph, Dabo, McCarthy, Domi, Soares, Coria, Alston, Reis[/LINEUP-4-4-2] You will see Perovic playing behind Lekic, rather than next to him in this situation. You have to understand that the Revolution have yet to play a game with their full lineup because of injuries. That is why guys like Phelan, Nyassi and Boggs are getting run in the starting lineup. Once Dabo plays, you will see a completely different MF for the Revs.
Yes, including DPs. The answer is Taylor Twellman and Edgaras Jankauskas. Link (Looking more closely there are a couple of teams missing like NY and Seattle, but the point remains that the Revs aren't near the bottom). In any event, the Revs' ownership/FO sucks for many reasons, but their payroll usually isn't near the bottom.
Threads about Benny in MLS fora: New England https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1713792 MLS News and Analysis https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1710096 Best of luck to you, Benny. And…scene.
Now that this thread is open again, what shall we talk about? Maybe we should randomly speculate about which MLS players might end up with which foreign club. Maybe ...
Love the move to return to MLS by BF but am concerned about the quality of the match between player and club. If Nicol is/was truly resistant to this move, it sets up a potential clash between to very stubborn guys. Frankly, I'd like to see Nicol go if he fails to tactically integrate Benny into the Revs scheme. Nicol's overachieving has earned him a long leash but the manager role shouldn't be permanent; a change in leadership might wake the Revs up and free them to play a less cynical, dull brand of soccer.
Well the Copenhagen based AGF fans are a bit worried, that AGF are now going to be too Randers/Horsens/SønderjyskE- boring like, when we have lost "Mr. Fool hatt" ... a real man of the the World : http://translate.google.com/transla...mr-american-pie.html&sl=da&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8 ... and the AGF director of football also want a new "Feilhaber" this summer : http://translate.google.com/transla...s/article2409528.ece&sl=da&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8 .
Your director of football should check out Kelyn Rowe. He is on the US U20 team. He is on a free transfer and he went to UCLA like Benny. He is a bit more offensive minded than Benny, but I think he might be a good fit for your club.
