The nine year old boy who got to use my ticket to the Crew's first match back in '96 is now 31, an investment advisor in Cincinnati and FCC season ticket holder. We have a deal to provide each other with tickets to the Crew-FCC matches, and this will be a ton of fun.

Saved! Columbus Crew SC to stay put, ensuring a huge rivalry with fc cincinnati https://buff.ly/2CC5dsf #Hellisreal #SavedTheCrew
A couple of questions from a Crew fan in Dayton: Any word on a TV package for FCC? I’m within the 75 mile blackout for ESPN+. 66 miles to Nippert. 67 miles to Mapfre. I’ll keep driving the extra mile! Haha. Anyways is Star 64 still in play? Or any other rumblings? And also, will there be enough tickets available for traveling Crew fans at the Derby matches? I’d expect we could bring 3-5k fans to Nippert if they are willing to sell the Tix. That is one hell of an atmosphere.
I suspect it will be easier for Cincinnati fans to get tickets in Columbus than for Columbus fans to get tickets in Cincinnati. No word on local TV, but it would make sense for Star to keep them. You could get tickets to both Cincinnati and Columbus. I used to get the five or ten game pack in Columbus. That would be a great way to get tickets to both stadiums for the derby.
Nippet holds 40,000. I would hope they could open up more capacity for the Crew games. I’m sure they already have it planned. Conversely the best away crowd to ever come to Mapfre was Portland for MLS Cup in 2015. Toronto was a close 2nd in 2008ish. Both situations had the visitors filling the southend stands. About 2500 in total. It gave them their own side of the field. It gave great atmosphere and created the best sporting event I’ve ever been to. It’s that feeling that will drive this rivalry to national TV and prominence. Putting away fans in the upper deck doesn’t cut it. Ask English supporters what creates the atmosphere? Pitch side and you have TV gold.
