I think Janko is also cup tied (can't play) since he played for Twente in the EL. Lucho is clear because he played for OM in the CL.

Sucks really, I was looking forward to seeing us play Man City with a full squad. Without Janko, we may go back to the team we where before he arrived, not a good sign. And I thought CL leaves you cup tied for EL too? IN that case, Lucho wouldn't be available. That would really suck!

This used to be the case but I believe Uefa changed this rule recently. A player that played in the CL is not cup tied for the EL.
Walter sucks and is on Loan, Janko has the Flu and Kleber is back from injury, probably not fit yet and sucks too.
Not surprised to see Hulk at striker. That's what I figured when I learned Janko isn't available. If Janko is cup tied, not sure why they're using the excuse of the flu. Sucks Otamendi isn't available either. I hope our backline looks like this ------Danilo-------Rolando----Mangala----Alvaro

I agree. Kleber seems pretty much out of favor by VP, though. Even so, we need a big, big Hulk to beat City and so I'd rather have Kleber occupying space in the middle and allowing Hulk room to do his thing. Hulk also thrives on the wing when teams come at us.
I agree. None of the available strikers are ManCity level. It's too bad Janko cant play. I do prefer Djalma to Kleber though if I had to pick one.
Still not 100% sure if Janko is cup tied or with the flu. I haven't read anything about being cup tied, just VP's comments about him being unavailable due to the flu. Something I just noticed... If appearances in CL don't lead to being cup tied for EL (Lucho is eligible), why do cards from CL carry over to EL? That's why Otamendi is suspended, right? It's our first EL game, where did this Otamendi suspension come from? Surely from CL? Stupid.

HT 1-0 Porto Varela goal, a nice tap in from a Hulk cross. Looked like a Janko goal Impressive first half! Danilo was injured and was subbed off for Mangala, which forced Maicon from CB to RB so Mangala can take his usual CB position We started the game very well, dominating possession. Man City woke up and forced Helton to make 3 saves or so. If we do not concede at home, it would be great vs the attacking firepower of Man City!
