It would seem I've found myself in the role of PR Manager/Online Liaison to the potential ownership of FC Fargo, the hoped for 2016 NPSL team.

Per the owners request, I am here to see if there is anyone from the Fargo area who would like to be involved with this project and help get it up and running. I am here to see if there might anyone willing to help me keep ownership grounded and realistic.

So yeah, its kind of cool to be helping with something like this, but I have trouble trusting anyone outside of myself to do something like this right. Well, me or @Peter Wilt

    Help and support are appreciated

Mr. Sporting congrats! It's definitely been a few years but I've had some dealings with the NPSL. I'd be happy to be a sounding board...feel free to PM me.

Good luck to you! Hope all goes well. We were able to get Joplin up and running in less than a year so it is possible!

Well I am slightly worried. The owner lives in Minneapolis, not Fargo. And currently has no support. Not too sure what he's hoping I can do, since I'm in KC and really only build websites, to drum up support. Also has no idea where he'll be putting the team. Oh well, I'll see what I can do, and if it fails, it fails. Might lead to some other open doors, especially for building websites for NPSL teams. Most of their websites suck

Sounds like a great initial plan, followed by many clubs that are no longer with us.

Perhaps the extend run-up time will allow your "owner" to make some modifications. Good luck.

It appears FC Fargo will be up and running. Supposedly they will be in the NPSL in 2016, and it looks like the owner took my advice and got linked up with the local American Outlaws group. According to their website, which sadly, is not the one I made, but here is a link to the new one

    http://www.fcfargo.com/

Looks they are going to start in June, playing local teams with a couple of 'friendlies.' Facebook page already has a pretty decent following, which isn't bad

Here's an interview I did recently with the owner of FC Fargo, Tim Singleton. While he doesn't say what league he's playing in, it looks like he'll either be in the ASL2 or the American Premier League, based out of Minneapolis.

Tim's a real nice guy, and if you look at what this team did in it's summer of friendlies, it looks like there could actually be a pretty talented group of players up in Fargo

NPSL was too expensive, then he was going to go with ASL2 along with the Torrent. NPSL offered both teams a discount to jump ship, but only the Torrent bit. Tim did say in an interview he made some financial gaffs last year, nothing that will kill the team, but might have had an impact on league decision. Not to mention the APL is entirely based in Minnesota right now, which is far more convenient

In North Dakota, but all the other teams in their current league are in Minneapolis, Duluth, St Cloud, and La Crosse Aris FC. To be clear, I would not touch La Crosse Aris FC with a ten foot pole. They bailed on the NPSL, joined the PLA this off season, then bailed on them forcing Minneapolis City to accelerate from starting in 2017 to this year. Those guys are sketchy.

Side note, if Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor wouldn't have joined NPSL, and La Crosse had stayed put, the PLA would have a 15 team league this year. Definitely a league to keep an eye. And in all honesty, I expect them to pull some of these APL teams away next year.

How is one team joining a league "forcing" another to start a year earlier? That doesn't make much sense to me.

Force is a bad word to have used, but it certainly accelerated the timeline

Why though? A club can do whatever they want, when they want...and the leagues surely will work with them.

League had planned for a certain amount of teams, but when they pulled out, they had to approach the Mpls City bench and ask them if they could come on board a little quicker

FARGO — A local semi-pro soccer team called it quits after two seasons. FC Fargo owner Tim Singleton was quoted on the team Twitter page as saying "With great sadness, I am announcing that effective today FC Fargo will cease day-to-day operations due to financial reasons."

According to Singleton, FC Fargo drew between 250-300 fans per game in its inaugural season in 2015. Singleton told The Forum in March 2105 that he took a second job at Mystic Lake Casino to help fund FC Fargo, stating he saved $40,000 for that first season. The team entered the American Premier League this season and ended in first place of the five-team upper midwest division with a record of five wins, one loss and two draws

NPSL is proud to announce that Dakota Fusion Futbol Club (Fargo, ND) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will compete in the Midwest Region’s North Conference.
“We are very excited to announce that the NPSL is coming to North Dakota,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “This is a special moment for the league as we continue to grow the beautiful game in new markets across the country. I know that our fans and supporters are excited about our North Conference.”
DFFC is led by General Manager Sajid Ghauri and Administrator Rollie Bulock.
Ghauri currently works in the telecommunications industry and has been involved in soccer for the last 40 years. He has sponsored teams in this region for last five years. He has been involved in the coaching ranks for over 10 years and is still an active soccer player. He launched Dakota Fusion Futbol Club in February 2016.
Bulock, a Devils Lake, ND native, established the Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) women’s soccer program in 1995. One short year later, he guided the Dragons to their only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championship. During his tenure, 33 players received All-NSIC honors in addition to one All-American and two All-Region selections. He was also honored as NSIC Coach of the Year in both 1996 and 1998. Bulock left MSUM in 2000 and served as an assistant at Northern State in 2000 and 2001 before serving as head coach at Wayne State in 2002 and 2003. He was the NSIC Coach of the Year in 2002. He returned to MSUM in 2004, retired from his position in 2015, and is currently the winningest soccer coach in MSUM history.
DFFC had 28 players on their roster during their first year. They played seven friendlies in 2016, winning five of those games.
“We would like to learn and assist in the growth of soccer in our region,” Ghauri added. “We will also like to seek an opportunity to compete with other regions at higher levels, providing challenges to our players and give them the opportunity to improve their skill set.”
Home matches will be played at Moorhead High School (Moorhead, MN) and Shanley High School (Fargo, ND). Both have artificial turf playing surfaces, locker rooms, and seating for over 2,000 spectators.
More information about the club can be found at www.dakotafusionfc.com or by following the club on Facebook (@DakotaFusion), Twitter (@DakotaFusionFC), and Instagram (@dakota_fusion_fc).
