Given we just had a player in Tyler Gibson get a serious injury and have contract honored I struggle to see why Cincinnati would not do the same for Tommy. They gain little doing so and could be a major mark against them for future signings.

In their (FCC) eyes, why would they do anything for Tommy? There's a lot that's unknown about the situation, but the rumors are Tommy hid an injury and/or failed his medical. Gibson got injured while being with FCC. There's a huge difference. Unless, Tommy actually got injured at FCC, which has never been talked about.

    Misunderstanding here.

I was saying the idea that Cincinnati screwed Tommy seems at odds with how they handled Tyler injury situation.

In a sense, they DID screw Tommy. Even though the situation is rather vague right now.

How did they screw Tommy? NEVER let a player train without the medical being passed. That's common sense/knowledge. It has nothing to do with Front Office. Koch knows this. Athletic Training staff knows this. Koch was in college coaching for many years previously. The AT staff are "professionals." Everyone in the athletic business KNOWS that players cannot do ANYTHING official without prior clearance. It doesn't matter what was "hidden" (if that were the case) OR the physical took "longer time," no one does anything without 100% approval. Period. Tommy trained. Yes, it was one training session. No, it wasn't just a warm-up. He participated in the whole first training session. That's not a good sign.

No way Gibson situation is anything similar. He had passed everything and was training. Got injured during training. No one has yet to claim Tommy got injured during the one training session.

FC Cincinnati is proposing to replace Cincinnati Public Schools’ Stargel Stadium with a new high school stadium in the southwest corner of Ezzard Charles Drive and John Street and build its new soccer stadium at the current Stargel site behind Robert A. Taft Information Technology High School.

The club’s president, Jeff Berding, confirmed the proposal, which has been widely discussed in Cincinnati’s business and political community for months, to the school board on Monday night.

Looks like West End stadium is going through. Exciting news in Cincinnati. What a great location that's going to be. It's in Don Garber's hands now!

Looking forward to the home opener tomorrow! Always an exciting match when playing Louisville. Should be a great crowd. I'm guessing about 25K.

I hope you have a great crowd and a great game in Cincinnati. Hope there's a bunch from Louisville up for the game too.

FC Cincinnati under the leadership of Owner Carl Lindner III and GM/President Jeff Berding checked all the necessary boxes for admission into Major League Soccer (MLS) on Monday.

Beginning with last week’s land swap approval with Cincinnati Public Schools, Lindner and Berding completed the necessary public-private partnerships to build the club’s stadium in Ohio. Hamilton County (parking and infrastructure), the Cincinnati Port Authority (stadium ownership), the West End Community Council (community benefits agreement) and the City of Cincinnati (infrastructure) have all committed to the plan and have helped complete the most difficult piece of the MLS puzzle.

While the official deals are pending an invitation to the nation’s top soccer league, the coalition supporting the deal is impressive and should stand out to the league. Many major civic groups are backing the deal. Local labor unions, West End Community leaders, and even members of both sides of the political aisle have come together to continue the city’s renaissance.

If we don't get MLS, MLS just never wanted us, done all we can.

Yes, part of "all we can" is agreeing to the terms of expansion including a $150 million expansion fee, much like every other candidate.

Obviously it is a business and MLS wants clubs that can make them more money. They want the fee, but then they want the revenue of tickets, sponsors, television, and merchandise for years to come and attract other expansion clubs next round.
