Ok those are good news and would provide an excellent rivalry with the crew (I'm assuming the crew will stay in Columbus of course). It says that they will build a 21K stadium. Could it be possible that it is too small?
2019? Is it just me, or is that cutting it kind of close? I'm sure they must have a lot of the infrastructure already in place, but 10 months just seems like they're rushing things.
Yeah, I wondered about that. Minnesota seems to have suffered from being "fast-tracked", so I hope there's a solid plan in place.
I told y’all. Guess who isn’t getting in? Sac Town. Sacramento better sell the farm and promise the moon.
in 2019, it makes sense the Cincinnati would play in the eastern conference. That brings balance with 12 in eastern and 12 in western. but in 2020, Nashville and Miami are scheduled to come in. Both of those teams traditionally would be eastern conference. Would they make Nashville go west? Does this mean MLS thinks Columbus is definitely moving to Austin? Or maybe Miami is still up in there. Is there any way they would play with 14 in the east and 12 in the west?
So we have 3 eastern teams coming. Obviously FC Cincinnati will join Eastern Conf in 2019. That will level the conferences at 12 each. When Miami and Nashville join there will be some decisions to be made. Options: - Move Chicago to Western and put Miami and Nashville in Eastern (13 each) - Add Nashville to Western and add Miami to Eastern (I see this as highly unlikely) - Have unbalanced divisions/conferences. At 26 you can't really divide into more than 2 conferences equally. 26/3 = 8.666; 26/4 = 6.5; - Single table where you don't play everyone an equal amount. Playing everyone twice in a 26 team single table would be 50 games.
MLS might want that, put Columbus is putting up one hell of a fight. I don't think MLS (and more poignantly, Anthony Precourt) can count those chickens at this point.
Split into two 13 team, single-table divisions with a balanced schedule and promotion/relegation? *ducks*
MLS doesn't admit teams based on how the conferences will look. Don't read anything into what teams get in based on that. MLS has shown that they will move teams from one conference to another as circumstances change. Nashville could get put in the West or even Chicago. By 2020 the league will have a better idea on who is where and what teams #27 and #28 might be. If Columbus stays put and everything else works out like this, I would favor the 14/12 split at least until the league gets to 28.
Well they can get up to 40K crowds in Nippert for 2 more seasons. That should be plenty big. That would be a little deflating from MLS attendance buffs to instantly move from that to a 21K cap. But the smaller stadiums seems to be the trend.
Just take care of her needs first and she will likely be asleep by the time you are done. Everyone is happy. james
I believe Chicago would move to the Western Conference, when they came into the league back in 1998 (also in 1999) they played in the Western Conference.
It looks like Chicago is slightly further west than Nashville. Would Chicago be upset about being moved west?
Chicago to the west would make sense as they could create a rivalry with Minnesota which is only a 7 hour drive away.
Well it is a weaker conference, at least the last couple of years and our owner lives in LA. That could make him feel closer to the team.
