Imperium Cincinnatus Association Football Club... Whatever, it's gonna be FCC anyway and it has a little history now so it's gonna be here to stay.
Is there anybody still clinging to old WHA rivalries? This does remind me of one of the more poorly thought-out NBA expansion team names--the Chicago Packers in the early '60s. (They eventually became the Washington WIzards.)
Aren't we done with the My City FC yet? In some cities in addition to being bland and inoffensive FC could be considered a nod to Latino market but it sure isn't in Cincinnati. I'm sure 90% of the fans there who play didn't refer to the sport as football. If MLS is still doing the Euro pandering thing, then Cincy should have gone with the German copied SV nomenclature.
Fußball Club Cincy. interesting comments that may end up biting the team in the ass from the commissioner regarding the stadium. said they had selected the team back in November but the TEAM wanted west end instead of nippert stadium. said mls waited on them because of how ambitious the design and plan was. that....will not go over well once everyone sobers up from the party
Based on only three people catching the turkey reference initially, I assume most of this thread hasn't outside of some clips here and there. I don't think they have re-released with original music. I loved the show. I watched every episode. I have no memory of how I watched the show.
Yesterday was yet another surreal day in the short history of FC Cincinnati. Seeing people at Fountain Square so excited to watch a screen of the announcement would have been unthinkable 3 years ago. As someone who went to prior failed attempts at soccer in Cincinnati this is a dream come true. If you're outside the area it is hard to convey the transformation in Cincinnati. I have seen so many times how this go around has been different, winning over doubters and making Cincinnatians feel good about something after so many years of cynicism. I am very nervous, but also very excited to get into MLS in 2019 and to get our own stadium in 2021. This is what I dreamed about for so many years. Now, all that remains is to win a championship and it will be complete.
It will be very interesting to see if FC Cincinnati learns the lessons of Minnesota United about a quick transition to MLS, especially in regards to building their roster and how they will approach the remainder of the USL season.
Hard to say. Right now they are saying all the expected right things about spending, but not sure how they will ultimately go about building the roster. I'm keeping my expectations low, hoping maybe we can pull off a big signing or two.
