From mlssoccer.com: UNDER CONTRACT (12): Callens, Chanot, Harrison, Herrera, Johnson, Lewis, Moralez, McNamara, Ring, Sands, Wallace, Villa OUT OF CONTRACT (0): CONTRACT OPTIONS EXERCISED (5): Awuah, Matarrita, Rawls, Shelton, Sweat CONTRACT OPTIONS NOT EXERCISED (11): Allen, Brillant, Camargo, Gomez, Johansen, Lopez, Mena, Okoli, Struna, Stertzer, White RETIRED (1): Andrea Pirlo I would imagine players like Lopez, Brillant and Struna have a chance at returning with new contracts and guys like Shelton and Rawls are expansion draft fodder.
I would be surprised to see Allen not come back either. I'm really curious to see how much turn over we will see. I don't think we necessarily need big turnover, but I also wouldn't be against it. Edit: Also going to turn this into the general transfer thread for this season.
Report says NYCFC to sign Sweden's top tier Defender of the Year https://t.co/jOE0dhInWB via @sbisoccer #NYCFC #MLS— Glenn Crooks (@GlennCrooks) December 11, 2017 Being reported all over the place.......well except for any official NYCFC related site (News? Why report news? We have jersey's and 4 Game Ticket Packs to sell on Twitter & Facebook!). Thus it must be a done deal. Guess it explains why the team didn't re-up on Struna.
According to transfermarkt, his contract expires at the end of this month. Only 26 years old as well. Looks like a great deal on paper. It would be really nice to finally have a right back that isn't a total liability.
This signing probably puts an end to the idea of the team going three across the back. Callens, Mataritta and Chanot aren't sitting.
Per @SoccerByIves, #NYCFC forward Khiry Shelton may be traded to #SportingKC. Hearing that defender Saad Abdul Salaam the player in return if deal is consummated #MLS— Glenn Crooks (@GlennCrooks) December 14, 2017

Stuver replaces Johansen. Busy day. Regarding #NYCFC's latest acquisition, GK Brad Stuver, head coach Patrick Vieira emphasized the program that Stuver has develed in at #CrewSC: “Brad is coming to us from Columbus who are a team with a similar playing philosophy to us, so that will help him to adapt." #MLS— Glenn Crooks (@GlennCrooks) December 14, 2017
Seems like a small change of plan. It appears that Medina will sign with MCFC and be loaned to NYCFC.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. In one way I think it's bull shit, because it feeds into the farm team label nitwits like to toss around. And I'd also like to have young players on our roster who are not liable to be gone after a year or so. Or if we are going to lose them, at least we'd benefit from any transfer fees. On the other side of the coin (and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) his coming to us on loan would have less of an impact on the cap, thus allowing more money to be thrown at possible DP types of players.

According to various twitter sources, it looks like Medina signing a 5 year contract is all but a done deal. I'm reluctant to post this in the Confirmed Signings thread, because it has yet to be confirmed by the team. Then again, anyone who has followed this club already knows the last place you look for news pertaining to NYCFC is any NYCFC social media sight.
Despite report of interest from #LCFC and #WHUFC, can confirm #StokeCity is still the favorite to sign Jack Harrison. Sources tell me a deal “is still likely to be completed this week.” I’m told latest Stoke bid is $6 million. Previous bid rejected was $4.5 million. #NYCFC— Matt Reed (@MattReedFutbol) January 24, 2018
They really need to make sure they don't lose this transfer. I love Jack but that's good money for a player that we now have more than adequate cover for. I say take the 6 mil and GAM that comes with it and save it for a mid season addition to bolster the squad.
OK. The summer transfer window opens soon and the obvious question being who is out there that can take over the left back position? Sweat was absolutely abused last night and Matarrita can't stay on the pitch, so who do we bring in?
This is the best they can come up with? NYCFC is close to signing former Girona captain Eloi Amagat through December with an option for an additional year. That spanish player doesn't make much sense in that he's an attacking mid and I don't see where he'd play since I wouldn't bench Maxi for him. The Bedoya player is just depth and I guess you can't have too much of that but why not just play Sand more or Awuah. Overall I hope these aren't the two pieces Reyna talked about adding but we'll see.
A report from Austria claims NYCFC is interested in 23-year-old Lucas Venuto of Vienna. The report states a move to NYC unlikely but not ruled out.
