Hopefully a bounce back game after a disappointing showing last week. FYI the game won't be on Wish TV and will be on CBS Sports only.
Fun half so far. Classy finish by Zayed on the second. And, with Busch at the west end, I'm glad the east-west breeze blew the smoke back on the BYB after both goals.
Too bad we couldn't keep the lead at 4, for goal difference purposes. But that's a thoroughly satisfying win.
That's now 11 goals in 17 games for Zayed. I was glad when we signed him based off his past performances at a variety of clubs, but I never expected anything of that caliber.
After those 17 games, Zayed already holds the club record for most goals in a season and most goals in club history. The Eleven desperately needed someone like him.
The off-season signings have been great additions. Even Justin Braun, who hasn't been quite as prolific scoring wise as Zayed (4 goals), is still a far better striker than anyone else we had last season and his hold up play has been very good.
Don't know why we struggled with putting away Miami FC (and actually losing to them), but it is good we finally wailed on a weak team and have placed ourselves back on top via goal differential. At least the remaining Jacksonville game will be televised. Don't know why they didn't air it locally; it's Wednesday, but it's not like MyNetwork TV has original programming.
I'd guess that this dismal performance by Jacksonville played a major role in the timing of Tony Meola's firing.
