It's time to put the winless streak to bed before it gets out of control, and this seems a good opportunity: Indy makes what may be its final visit to Fort Lauderdale. Though the Strikers are in disarray, with plummeting attendance and a front office that has been late to pay players, the Strikers did manage to hold the Cosmos to a scoreless draw in their last match, so this is no gimme. And then there's the Florida factor: according to the Indy Eleven preview, Indy has one only once in 13 visits to the Sunshine State.
I wasn't able to watch last night, but I recorded the broadcast and watched this morning. And it felt like the bad old days again: a toothless, disjointed attack overly reliant on the long ball, and an open, mistake-prone defense. Sure, we're still in the playoffs. But this recent downward trend needs to be reversed, and fast, if the team is to have any hope of momentum going into the postseason.
