Figures it'd take a league one side to make us look good.

The good news with this scoreline is that Ole should be able to take players off early. Have to protect some of them as much as possible (and give a runout to others who could use it).

The back 3 is clearly because of the state of this pitch - which looks more like a cut-up horse race track than a football pitch.

Wing backs at least giving us more options and means a CB can join the attack which helped for goals 1 & 3.

Just need to get out of here with a win and more importantly given state of pitch no injuries.

Lingard really should have made it 4 there from Shaw's cross. Will ironically blame this one on the pitch: it's possible I guess...

Just need to possession-play this game out now. Save the legs.

Dumb ass referee watched their defender drag down Maguire, right in front of him. He just turned his head.

Still scored, but ******** you ref.

Do we have any injured players to sub in now for Ole to cripple?

HT Martial should be first one save, bring on Chong and move Mason to #9.

Also swap out Maguire (who has clocked up the most minutes for us) for Bailly.

Too bad Gomes isn't on the bench; this would be a good game for him to play. Why are the youngsters missing today?

I say take off Maguire for Bailly, Jones for Gomes and Martial for Chong

The subs that need to happen are Bailly for Maguire, Mata for AP and Chong for Martial. There is no Gomes in the squad today.
Was very weary of Bailly playing on this pitch but we should be cruising in the 2nd half, so it should be much less of a risk. Any minutes we can spare Maguire (since Ole will play him no matter what) is a positive.

Funny how quickly things changed in this game. For the first 10mins or so, Tranmere were clearly the better team. Jones picked up a quick yellow, then looked to have injured himself and was set to be subbed off.
Our 3 goals in 6mins or so completely snuffed any hopes Tranmere had. But it was not looking good early...

Two subs made, but not Bailly. This would seem the right match to get him on, preferably for Maguire.

This team was really be shit if Maguire, Lingard, and Jones were able to score.

Not sure about “clearly the better team”. They had one half chance that hardly bothered Romero.

Really don't see the upshot in putting Fred in this game, with 2 games coming up this week where he will be expected to take full part in...
