It's hard to know what to write at a time like this. I'm sitting here hoping that Fabrice pulls through.

Yes, I just read from Everton Football Club update that, "Great to hear the hospital reporting that Fabrice Muamba is in a stable condition. #prayformuamba"

This is such great news. Hang in there Muamba!

As harsh as the fans can be, it was a nice display.

The silence, though, was terrifying even knowing the current situation.

    Be well, Fabrice, be well.

Assuming the report is correct, it says that it couldn't beat on its own for two hours. Doesn't mean that it wasn't beating for two hours. But he suffered cardiac arrest, which mean't his brain wasn't getting any oxygen for those minutes. That means, if he survives, he might have some permanent brain damage. Because if your brain is deprived of oxygen for even a few minutes, it can be catastrophic.

I was in ICU for 4 days about 2 and a half years ago. People were dropping dead , and from the peak I took through my curtains, the doctors would attempt to resuscitate a person for almost 2 hours or so, I made note of it because I had nothing to look at but the clock and crappy TV, lol. Which means they are artificially pumping your heart whether from CPR or the defibrillator.

The sad thing was watching them leave a room in anger, being unsuccessful in reviving a person.

But, yeah it is amazing that you can be brought back to life in this manner, it really both stunned and comforted me knowing professionals will spend this amount of time trying to bring you back to life.

My mother worked in ER's and told me it was normal, that it takes a while for them to give up on someone.

Having lost a friend a few years back to a similar situation (heart attack on the field, age 20), this hits real close to home for me. Even though I've never met Fabrice, it's impacted me like he's family. I've been praying since I found out that it turns out different in this situation.
