Thought it'd be worth having a spot for all things to do with this years competitions because it lacks a home on here. Here are the Spurs 5-0 Preston highlights https://www.pnefc.net/ifollow/ Paris Maghoma (no.8) looks dominant and J'Meill Lloyd-Bennett (no.11) looked like he tore up the Preston right side. He's a newer name to me, is he a 2002? Anyone else got other highlights?
Lloyd-Bennett is an U16, not sure if he's 01 or 02, but he's broken into their U18s in the last month, livewire winger, can go both ways, he's intelligent with it, and has consistent end product. I like him.
In terms of highlights, there's a playlist here with what's available so far from Round One onwards. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOYCw7u7ENO2jzdifeuJzeeQbQbwtW1ll The individual match pages here - http://youthhawk.co.uk/wiki/2017-18_FA_Youth_Cup - will have them embedded in due course too.

Very interesting FA Youth Cup awaits. No Everton, Man Utd, Man City or 1 of Liverpool/Arsenal at least when the final 16 is known. There are a few other clubs who probably can claim to be in that next pack.
ITFC have had their best result in this for years, beating Everton at Goodison Park - but this is probably he worst team we've had in a few years too which is a bit frustrating as a team from last 2-3 years could have gone far. Oxford or Dagenham in round 4 for us
yeah, but that thread is so broad and Youth Cup posts were also being made in individual age group threads. No harm in making it easier for people to keep track of.
Everton, United + City out already. After Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal + Liverpool. It's very open. Could be a great chance for a fresh face to progress if they get a kind draw. I like the look of teams like Forest + Leicester.
Draw dependent but I can see one of Derby, Palace, or Fulham reaching the Semis. They've all got enough to get there.
And we play each other in the next round. That Leicester team knows how to get results. Be an interesting tie. At the Cliff at the beginning of the season they won the tournament involving Man Utd, Spurs & Forest. Forest will probably be stronger next season but maybe not have the options off the bench like this season.
Leicester's CBs are George Heaven (6'6") and Lukas Husek (6'7"), with 6'3" full-back Calvin Ughelumba rotating in. That largely sums up the kind of team they've been this season, and they've scored about a quarter of the team's goal between them. If you don't concede set pieces to them they're not going to ask many attacking questions of you, but they'll keep it tight and try to nick a goal and ride it for all it's worth.
It IS broad as all the posts about academy games were in there. I've got no problem with a separate thread, but you could have a separate thread, for example, the u19 Champions League (or any other academy competition for that matter). And when people post about an individual, even though it may refer to his performance in the youth cup, they will still put it in the appropriate age group. I know I will.
Just don't fall in love with the fairy tale and let referees, FA, opponent managers, players and fans hope so much for a minnow to win that they give them advantages. Had enough of that with seniors, there are big clubs that havent won it for decades too.
5th Round draw Potentially Spurs v Chelsea, think a very real chance there is going to be a 'shock' finalist this year https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DTVu36YX4AAqAF_.jpg Here's the draw for the Fifth Round of the #FAYouthCup, which has just taken place this lunchtime: pic.twitter.com/JLlNlz5XUZ— youthhawk (@youthhawk) January 12, 2018
Watched a decent game at Portman Road as ITFC overcame Dagenham 2-1, a few players in Dagenham team who looked like they could step up a level most notably the centre back Ollie Bonds. A lovely little cameo towards the end of the game from England U16 Ben Knight showed what a special little player he is - the vision and weight of pass is something else. Other England youth player on display was RB Dylan Crowe who had a good game there - the game became really stretched and could have gone either way but think ITFC deserved to edge it. We face Blackpool in the 5th round who knocked Southampton out on penalties in what must be regarded as a big shock.
It always seems idiotic when youth teams play at the same time as the first team. Why not pick another night.- Chelsea v West Brom tonight.
Especially when their game tonight is a cup game and a chance to potentially involve some of the younger players like Hudson-Odoi
The YC game was scheduled for tonight before the FAC replay was confirmed, let alone moved for TV. At that point it's too late to move the YC tie because both clubs have other commitments either side of it and/or have made and confirmed travel plans etc. It sucks though.
A pretty young Forest squad beat Leicester yesterday on penalties despite being down to 10 men after 20 minutes. Apparently it wasn't a pretty game and Forest barely coped with Leicester's behemoths but it's certainly a big win for them. They could have a really useful side capable of challenging next year.
Looked like Liverpool had the game won, until the little England u16 sub, Saka struck late on. A proverbial lack of quality in the final third (Camacho being just one culprit) but you have to hand it to Arsenal, they were really solid at the back.
At the game so can’t sort link, but ITFC v Blackpool live on ITFC Facebook page Nydam ((U19), Crowe (U17) and Knight (U16) all England youths and starting for ITFC
Disappointing night for ITFC, losing 2-0 at home to a very physical Blackpool team. Ref didn't get control of the game and there were some really poor challenges early doors, a shocker on Tristan Nydam who was targetted early on. Ben knight was being kicked and pulled whenever he got the ball and wasn't getting obvious free kicks from the ref who let too much go, and his head seemed to visibly drop as he pulled himself up from the turf as play continued for 5th or 6th time. I don't want to sound like it's sour grapes, Blackpool got in front with a massively deflected free kick and scored a good second goal on the break - and followed that up by sticking 10 men behind the ball and we barely had a chance worth noting. But they looked very well organised, resolute and broke very well and it's impossible to suggest they didn't deserve to go through. Just felt it would have been a very different game had the ref not referreed the game like it was a League 1 fixture rather than a Youth Cup game - but we needed to learn about winning our battles and being up for the fight when things are going against us.
