The FA WSL is back with the second half of the season and Round 8 out of 14 started yesterday and will finish tomorrow.

    Bristol Academy v Lincoln 2-3 .

Bristol will be playing in the champions league thanks to their luck in the draw...They finished runner-ups in the FA Cup final and therefore qualified. Birmingham City v Doncaster Belles 3-0

    Tomorrow :

Arsenal v Liverpool and a very interesting Everton v Chelsea

And the table as of today

    1. Birmingham 20 pts pl 8
    2. Arsenal 13 pts pl 6
    3. Chelsea 12 pts pl 7
    4. Lincoln 8 pts pl 8
    5. Everton 7 pts pl 6
    6. Bristol 7 pts pl 8

The season is now nearly finished and the last Round #14 will take place on the 28th of August. Arsenal are a point ahead of Birmingham and need to win at bottom of the table Liverpool to win the title. Birmingham are away to the second from bottom team Doncaster.

No relegation in the FA WSL and the winner gets to play the Champions League 2012-13 alongside the FA Cup 2012 winner.

Arsenal is the new FA WSL champion after beating Liverpool 3-1.
Arsenal therefore qualifies for the 2012-13 Champions League whose final will be played in ...London.

Faye White tried everything possible not to make it happen, she gave away a stupid goal to Liverpool, she had a 0% completion rate for her long passing but to no avail, and was seen later bragging on twitter. Considering she played nearly no part in winning that title, that is a bit ...

The season is now over...so the FA has created the "continental" cup with the 8 teams playing each other : Quarter-finals see 8v1 7v2 6v3 5v4 and the Final in Burton.

There is a great irony that the Continental Cup final is played at the Pirelli Stadium :D Talking about upsetting the main sponsor lol

I had read somewhere that the lowest ranked team was getting the home game in the semi-final as well. But nothing on who was drawing who.

And in the miscellaneous news, the FA has suspended a player for 70 days for some twitter banter with a former team-mate. I was wondering why she hadn't played for a while and asked her and BOOM came the answer. Funnily enough her tweets are now protected.

I have emailed the FA asking for clarification , but the girl is non English and was probably having a go at her English mate...

The only bit of banter I have seen between two players that's deserving of a ban was an explicitly racist and anti non English exchange back and forth that was meant to be just "a joke between the 2 of them". Both would have deserved a ban for that but I noticed one of them was playing last week.

Apparently, the official FA WSL twitter said the draw was on Monday, so what is written on the website seems wrong.

Arsenal beat Lincoln 3-1 and Birmingham beat Everton 2-1. The final is played next Sunday the 25th and the season will be over. A lot of WSL players have gone on loan to lower division teams in the Women Premier league and will be back with their club around January/February.

Aine O'Gorman is back with Peamount on loan and I guess she can play for them in the Champions League games against PSG.

Well the new National League starts in November I think, they should be announcing the dates soon, she must be planning on playing them too.

Arsenal win "the treble" by beating Birmingham 4-1 in the Continental Cup final. They include the FA Cup that was played in the 2010-11 season in the treble , can't understand their logic.
