FA Cup and League Cup Winners Both Outside The Premier League Top 8

    Before 2012-2013, when was the last time the FA Cup and League Cup winners were both outside the Premier League (or First Division) Top 8?

    1990-91

    Tottenham won the FA Cup, finished 10th in the old Division One

    Sheffield Wednesday won the League Cup, finished 3rd in the old Division Two and won promotion to Division One.
    They did not qualify for the UEFA Cup however as England was only awarded one spot.
