Coulthard in the First Free Practice in Malaysia earlier today. Look at that front suspension.
No it didn't, it helps to watch it from an angle outside of the cockpit. When he went over the side of the track there was a slight depression. Hence when he tried to get back on the tarmac the car lifted and the suspension crashed as he hit the track at a downward angle.

Alonso is driving a super tanker for tomorrow... Not sure if it was cheating but certainly casual behaviour. We are going to see more of those in the season I'm afraid with the way drivers and teams are managing their laps given the fact that they have to save fuel. Well last year, since they refueled to the same level they had at the beginning of Q3, they were basically burning gas in the first part of the session which was not exactly eco friendly. In protest, Honda decided not to participate in Q3 the whole season !
lol. i think they knew to move over and wouldn't. my biggest worry now is do i stay up and try to monitor online or not.... man i miss having speedchannel...

Good race for BMW, they are fraction of a second from winning their first race. Once they get into Europe, qualifying is important. If BMW can put that car on Pole they might be able to do it. Monaco or Hungary could be the place to win.
could be. reminds me a bit of 2004/jarno/spanish gp/monaco gp situation... he qualified well @spain got a good start and looked very racey then the next race, monaco, he won pole and the race.... nick winning would be great.
Pff, Bourdais will triumph under the rain ! *** Wow, confidence is one thing, but this sounds to be on the brink of arrogance...To be honest, it's the media who seem to make the most of it, as ever. http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3341507,00.html
Three things are clear from Malaysia 1)Ferrari are not as weak as we thought 2)BMW can challenge 3)Toyota has a quality car (and we already know about Jarno). This makes it a potential 4 team challenge, though I still think McLaren are superior. But the speed of BMW was clear when Heidfeld got around Alonso and Weber and simply recketed away. Oh, and post race was interesting: Kubica's comment about how hot it was in the cockpit was interesting.
Toyota is a one hit wonder, they always do well in Malaysia then disappear. Ferrari and McLaren will trade wins all season. Kovo won't win a race and Massa will be asked to protect Kimi as he has yet to impress. (must be all that talk about Vettel taking his seat) Spain is another track with no passing so Alonso can even impress there if he gets qualifying right.
Here is an Indianapolis-based weekly radio show on Indycar/F1. It's on the local ESPN radio affiliate and has an Indy Star racing columnist as one of the two anchors. They've only done two shows so far, but they store them like podcasts if you wish to listen to previous ones. http://www.1070thefan.com/trackside/
If some of us thought that we could not get lower than last year's scandal... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7325602.stm I'm afraid of this brand new saga...This will drag the media far from the track for all the wrong reasons once again. Still, without reaching a verdict on that controversy, there are strange common aspects on this scandal and the one dealing with Jean-Marie Balestre, Mosley's predecessor at the helm of the FIA. That and the fact that both of them shaped the sport, so it became what it is today and to their credit, a relentless effort on safety. Mosley and Balestre, partners in crime...Ooooh, just kidding !
No surprise here at all... Max Mosley has apologised for his involvement in the sex scandal that broke this week, but vows to retain his role as FIA President. In a letter to members and affiliates of the Paris-based global motoring body, and obtained by the media, the 67-year-old Briton claims to have been the victim of a two-week illegal 'covert investigation' into his private life. The English tabloid News of the World on Sunday revealed video evidence of Mosley cavorting with five prostitutes in an apparent Nazi-themed orgy. "Not content with publicising highly personal and private activities, which are, to say the least, embarrassing, (the newspaper) published the story with the claim that there was some sort of Nazi connotation to the matter. This is entirely false," he wrote. Mosley said he will sue the News of the World for invasion of privacy and insists that his desire to stay FIA President is supported by his allies who believe his private life "is not relevant to my work." "I am grateful and with your support I intend to follow this advice," he said.
that would be nice but either way i don't see it as a big problem. they will race with or without max.
