Really, what a race. Hamilton beaching his car - on pit lane no less. Kubica losing his gear box while leading the race. Kimi passing Alonso with less then 10 laps for the lead. And all of this with a tropical storm 25 or so miles to the south. What a crazy race. How many cars slid off on turn 1 and at turn 16? And a bit of good from McLaren - they will pay all their employees their bonus as if they had actually finished the constructors championship in either first or second.
It looked as if this sand trap had been designed just for this particular occasion ! It must have been silent jubilation for Alonso when he realized that Mac Laren did compromise Hamilton's bid on their own. Seeing Ron Dennis trying to push the car from his seat and his and Haug's faces as Alonso stepped on the podium was both pathetic and priceless. I've always had the feeling that Todt was a really weird guy, but, although it might not be that usually visible with sir Dennis, he does not seem to trail little Napoleon by much... Anyway, this whole season is weird...At least we'll have a grand finale in Interlagos with quite an exciting three way battle. Hamilton has the point advantage and a team devoted to his cause, Alonso has the momentum of surviving a situation that was desperate, the experience of such an event yet he must fight against the Ferraris, Hamilton and Mac Laren...Having no stake in winning the constructor champ anymore, will the Mac Laren team allow the Spaniard to prevail over their official protégé ? They can't do it obviously but it's clear that Lewis got the absolute best out of the team recently. The best timing in qualifying, probably the best tyres, etc...Difficult to buy their equality policy...Finally, Kimi can count on his team mate...And maybe Alonso (if you see what I mean) provided that Ferrari won't mess it all ! May the best win ! Or the one that survives anyway... Wasn't it Alonso passing Massa for second ?
So, who's gonna take it ? The brat, the teacher's pet or the autist ? Another Fiszman cartoon... At Mc Laren, as far as pressure is concerned, Alonso has an advantage on Hamilton to finish the season ahead !... Pressure on Hamilton ; Pressure on Alonso http://www.webringf1.com/forum/view...tart=510&sid=994075e3ecaddae39199c776b5e73e3e
gonna be great, but will it be as popular as last years final deciding race at sau paulo with schumacher and yet again alonso?
From what I've read, statistics do not favor Hamilton at all in this type of situation. The point leader seems to almost always lose. But they're just statistics after all... Nevertheless, provided that the Ferraris will be as fast as the Maccas, Alonso may have a good shot. And who knows if there will be rain or not.
This is going to be great. I wonder who is helped/hurt most by the wet. I seem to remember Kimi, Fernando, and Lewis all winning races in the wet.
So BMW is not afraid to disrupt the title battle. They haven't disrupted the title battle all year...why should now be any different? http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/63398
The grid for the final race Massa throwing the first Ace. Webber in place to cause problems, if he can maintain contact. Everybody worried about tire wear - careful Hamilton.

Yes, pretty amazing in that tank he drives. But he'll probably drop down to 12th or 13th at the start and drive the race with a train of cars behind him. I guess the rain predictions didn't come true?
My boy Jarno can race backwards further than that!! You, SueB, have severely underestimated his resolve to finish as low as possible yet still beat Ralf!! Honestly, JT is my fave and IMHO he is in a tank. I'm pleased with 8th and hope he can stay close to that... Go Lewie!
Precisely. Kimi deserves it, he's been in the shadows of the true greats like Schumacher, Alonso and Mika - now he can finally join them. Not to mention, his humility just makes him that much more deserving. Congrats!
Glad he didn't get it, bummed that Alonso just missed out. One wonders what would've happened had Alonso gotten the full support from McClaren he deserved.
